Hydrogen has played a key role as a raw material for various applications for more than a century. Did you know that around 94 million tons of hydrogen are consumed worldwide every year? ☝️ Most of this consumption is accounted for by refineries (water treatment processes, cracking, etc.) and the chemical industry (ammonia and methanol production, food chemistry, synthesis, etc.). The possible applications are as diverse as the valves required for the production, storage and transportation of hydrogen. The valves used along the hydrogen value chain must meet stringent requirements in terms of safety, design, material resistance and quality, not least because hydrogen, as the lightest element, is very diffusible. And, they must also be able to withstand extreme pressures and temperature ranges. A solution offered by KLINGER Schöneberg is the following 👇: https://lnkd.in/dR8WBeCU #hydrogen #klinger #valves #ACHEMA24 #greenenergy

𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 - 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 As a global family business, we run 14 production sites worldwide and extrude plastic profiles and tubes in Europe, America and Asia-Pacific. Technoform has a global presence with more than 45 factories and sales offices and more than 1,600 employees. The Technoform Heat Transfer Solutions unit: Heat is mostly obtained from combustion of fossil fuels, biomass or production by-products. As for any combustion process, full heat recovery from exhaust gases is crucial for energy efficiency yet highly challenging due to the corrosiveness of condensing flue gas. (Co-)combustion of fluorine by-products, for instance, leads to the formation of hydroflouric acid, which attacks virtally all materials including glass. Technoform's polymer based heat transfer solutions offer a reliable and cost efficient way of tapping into this unused source of energy. Their exceptional heat conductivity and corrosion resistance enable compact heat recovery systems that work in virtually all gas compositions. ♻️ 𝗪𝗠𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝟵-𝟭𝟭 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 - 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗼, 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆

Why use supercritical CO2 ? 💚 Above a temperature of 31°C and a pressure of 74 bar, CO₂ reaches the 4th state of matter: the supercritical state. Between the gaseous and liquid states, it then possesses new qualities and acts as a versatile solvent. In the supercritical state, CO₂ - has a low viscosity, lower than that of liquids - has better diffusivity than a liquid - retains the density of a liquid solvent Thanks to its high diffusivity, it can penetrate to the core of the material containing the element to be extracted, and will be able to solubilize the desired molecule and then extract it. What's more, as the process takes place at low temperature, extraction by supercritical CO₂ is respectful of products and preserves their properties.💚 The number of steps is reduced, as evaporation is carried out at the same time as extraction, which reduces operational costs. This method replaces the use of organic solvents such as hexane or other petroleum solvents, which are harmful to both people and the environment.🎉 💚 #WeAreSFEProcess #SFEprocessCO2 #greentech #madeinfrance

Developer Spotlight: Enoflex’s Single Polymer Composite (SPC) pipes solve problems in liquified CO2 applications. They tackle corrosion and low-temperature brittleness of traditional steel pipes using thermoplastic-composite technology. 💡 Liquified CO2 enables long-distance transport by ship from carbon-capture clusters to storage sites when pipelines are not viable. 💧 ⚙️ The pipes are produced in continuous, reeled lengths up to 1 km. This simplifies transportation and installation with no onsite welding. 💰 Cost-effective alternative to metal alloys, resulting in potential annual savings of £98.8 million and 60% lower lifecycle CO2 emissions compared to steel. 🌱 Reduces CO2 impact by up to 1.4 kilotonnes (kT) annually. The Enoflex team has expanded from 9 to 15 employees in line with manufacturing demand for their non-metallic pipes for liquified gases. The pipes have applications in LNG, liquid CO2, Hydrogen, Ammonia and in the infrastructure buildout towards net zero emissions in #CCUS 👉 Read more about their project: https://bit.ly/3WVsFdu #DeveloperSpotlight #TechnologyDrivingTransition #HelloFuture
