Sampling systems are among the most complex systems in a plant. They feature numerous components and processes that must work together to produce an analytical reading of process stream conditions. That reading must be both accurate and timely, as this important result will be used to achieve a plant’s control objectives. Yet, a plant’s engineers and technicians know that a sampling system can be finicky. Every element of the system has the potential to impact the process analyzer accuracy. To help your team improve analyzer reliability, Swagelok field engineers have identified eight common challenges impacting a system’s accuracy. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eTGg6YdM

🔧 Troubleshooting Commercial Pumps: Mastering the Seven-Step Method🔧 Are you facing pump issues in your commercial setup? Whether you're a service technician, facility manager, or manufacturer's rep, mastering a methodical approach is key to swiftly diagnose and resolve pumping problems. 👉 Step 1: Stay Calm Panic doesn't solve problems. Gather information methodically to pinpoint the issue accurately. 🔍 Step 2: Identify the Problem Listen to the caller's description and ask targeted questions to uncover the root cause. 📋 Step 3: Interview Process Gather essential details about the system and pump setup. Ensure you have the necessary data to proceed. 📊 Step 4: Data Collection Photos, diagrams, and electrical data are vital. They provide insights into system setup and performance. 📈 Step 5: Analyze the Data Referencing pump curves and field-collected data helps identify discrepancies and potential system issues. 💡 Step 6: Recommend a Solution Based on analysis, propose solutions tailored to address the identified problem areas. 🛠️ Step 7: Additional Considerations Account for factors like glycol mixtures, pressure gauge types, and potential system deviations to ensure a comprehensive troubleshooting process. Remember, troubleshooting pumps often reveals system issues rather than pump faults. By following a systematic approach and leveraging available data, you can efficiently resolve commercial pump challenges. https://lnkd.in/gQ_9YcYh #CommercialPumps #Troubleshooting #Engineering #Maintenance #FacilitiesManagement #LinkedInLearning Feel free to share your experiences and insights in the comments! How to improve margins on truck rolls and complete jobs faster? HINT: Look for admin tasks that take your techs' time away from fixing the actual equipment #servicexcellence #reducewaste #leanthinking #fieldservice #cfesa
Not having the right parts during Field Operations has a large impact on First-Time Fix Rate. And if parts procurement is left to the technician, it eats up their valuable time. Plus, nobody likes doing admin stuff. How do you prevent this from happening to your company? It might be best to have a dedicated Parts Procurement and Research team. Listen to this short to see how else you could benefit from this!

I lead a team that has carefully taken time to re-tag GEA chillers by using the tag numbers on the P&ID. During the process, we found out some parts that were wrongly tagged and some that were not tagged at all. I believe this will help the operator/technician to quickly identify the parts that need to be worked on by reducing downtime as well as ensuring proper maintenance procedures. Tagging machines and equipment is crucial for several reasons: Safety First: Tags provide vital information about the status, maintenance history, and potential hazards associated with equipment. This helps workers make informed decisions and prevents accidents. Efficient Maintenance: Tags help maintenance teams easily identify equipment due for servicing, repairs, or inspections. This reduces downtime and extends the lifespan of machinery. Asset Management: Tags serve as identifiers, making it easier to track and manage equipment inventory. This improves accountability and reduces the risk of loss or theft. Emergency Preparedness: In emergencies, tags can provide critical information such as shutdown procedures, emergency contacts, and potential hazards, ensuring swift and appropriate responses. Operational Efficiency: Clear and concise tagging systems streamline communication between different teams and shifts, improving overall operational efficiency. In essence, tagging machines and equipment isn't just a formality—it's a proactive measure that enhances safety, efficiency, and compliance across industrial environments. #Industrial_Service #Industrial_Refrigeration #Electrical_control_system #PID

The YKEP implements a flash tank style economizer similarly to a CVH. There is a medium pressure stage in the pressure drop process. By removing this flash gas the liquid refrigerants enthalpy is reduced, meaning it can absorb more heat. One major difference between CVH and YKEP is the compressor stages. YKEP only has a single stage compressor so there is not an interstage (middle point) pressure point to return the medium pressure gas to. Sending it directly into the suction would disrupt the flow and stability of the primary compressor. The solution was a secondary, smaller, centrifugal compressor dedicated to processing the medium pressure gas. Understand chillers and become a Chiller Technician chilleracademy.com
