TED, 4 day week, everyone wins. I'm seeing that some of you posters may not fully grasp the concept. Because some of you don't have physical impairments, family responsibilities that a long weekend would help alleviate. She is not pushing a higher work load in less time. She is saying that the time off with family, friends and self down time has a psychological impact as well as the social and economical impact. How many of you can't wait for a 3 day weekend WITHOUT using a vacation day? How much gas would you save per year in travel. Most companies have a policy that you must work a minimum of 40 hours to receive benefits. You can accomplish this with a 4 day 10 hour shift. In my trade it takes more time, and resources to get reorganize for the following days job, and to get psychologically motivated and logically prepared to start the days work. This is time wasted and money lost, because nothing is being produced or accomplished. Two to four hours a week is lost in the production process per crew. This can be cut down by 20% in a 4 day 10 hour shift. Multiply this by the number of crews per shift that a company may have. Those are some real numbers that equate to money gained by the employer. As an employee ask yourself what can I do with a 3 day weekend? As an employer what can you accomplish with 2 extra hours per day, plus 1-2 hours per week from the typical shift(s) start up? https://lnkd.in/gYsZDf8a

Here’s an idea for 2024… Try a regular reset day to help you recalibrate, particularly after a busy period of time off. Every month take one whole working day to tune out from meetings, Slack notifications and other work commitments to get yourself back on track. Why? According to career and leadership coach and consultant Emily Button-Lynham, reset days allow us to step backwards from the day-to-day chaos and grind and allow us the time and space to think more strategically about what needs to be done, what challenges or blockers might stop this and what the plan of action is. How? ✔️ Block out your calendar and prepare ahead of the reset day itself ✔️ Set some goals - think about how you’d like the day to feel, what you’d like the outcome to be and what a successful reset day looks like ✔️ Change your Microsoft Teams status to “only contact in an emergency” ✔️ Commit to spending the day in a state of deep flow to maximise your productivity Factor in frequent moments like this to take a slower, more considered approach to getting on top of things. #WorkplaceWellbeing #Wellbeing #Culture #Careers

It's undeniable. We want to work less. 😓 With burnout on the rise, our mental health is at risk. We need a solution. ----- Here, Juliet Schor advocates for a redesign of the traditional work week. But how does she do that? Simply, she makes a case for a four-day, 32-hour work week with the same level of pay as the current five-day work week. The preliminary results of these trials indicate positive outcomes, including: - Increased employer and customer satisfaction - Revenue growth - Lower turnover If we consider this model, we could effectively address challenges such as burnout and the climate crisis. What do you think? Leave a comment below! #burnout #workweek #inspiration https://lnkd.in/gpd2jhza
