That's why Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria have developed a strategic plan to address these issues. Great to see Co Founder Jordan Dargue reflecting on Lifted Ventures impact to date in her post. (Go look 👀 ) We have an exciting 6 months ahead too with MAJOR, MAGICAL events coming up in Sept and Oct. 💜 The Lifted Women Angels Conference in Harrogate 💜 The Athena Festival at Nexus, Leeds University Places are filling fast with 70 sign ups for the first one and 130 to the second. In the meantime our business model is founded on supporting female founders seeking funding. Our inbox is constantly full of applications and Jordan and I have maintained our commitment to speak to every founder. 😃 Sometimes this can make a day look like a mountain to climb however it is always, always uplifting to hear about the regional, women built businesses our founders are growing. There is still much to do. Here are some of our reflections from our recent conversations: 👉 Female founders are launching a whole wave of impact focussed businesses which will positively influence the well being, wealth and health of future generations of women. 👏 👏 👏 👉 Many are doing this alone and working around multiple social responsibilities. 👉 Women need to have more visibility in the cap table when they are driving the value creation. 👉 And need the confidence not be tempted to give away too much equity too early on. 👉 When they do land funding they build amazing businesses which statistically are more likely to generate portfolio returns. We are creating a small but mighty team who give the work time they have available to help support female founders to land the funding they deserve to grow their businesses.  It's a rewarding environment full of hope, promise, and sometimes disappointment. We feel privileged to walk alongside female founders, often into the unknown. We're expanding and now have an opportunity for two new team members. In both cases we can offer flexibility in terms of days, and hours for the equivalent of between 2- 4 days per week, ideally this will always mean working on a Tuesday and Thursday with more days if you have capacity to do so. We offer a unique opportunity to get fully connected into the innovation ecosystem and early stage funding networks. 💜 Investment Relations Manager - ideally you will have Investor Realtions, Corporate Finance, VC or Banking experience. 💜 Marketing Manager - Ideally you will have 2 years experience minimum and strong skills around e-comms, event organisation and social media. When Jordan Dargue and I launched Lifted Ventures we were clear that we wanted to provide inclusive access to finance, so that all female founders could land the finance they needed to grow. The reality is that do this well is a slow process, one which requires intentionality and a huge amount of self education. We were inspired with the work that Ada Ventures and Bethnal Green Ventures had already done in achieving this. Our first step was to launch the ADHD'hers blueprint working with Jodie Hill from Thrive Law to bring this to life. The ADHD' Hers Blueprint lays out the huge investability of female founders with ADHD; their hyper focus, resilience and diverse team creation to name a few signature strengths, and the steps which investors need to take to help them show up as their best in investment environments We're now developing a Blueprint for a broader group of disabled female founders, working with Jodie again and other specialists. We're interested in getting feedback on our first draft from disabled female founders. Please comment on this post if you want to help, or know someone who could and we'll follow up from there.
