Passionate leader of volunteering | FRSA | Writer | Volunteer Resource Manager @ London Transport Museum
How important is it to be versatile when working with volunteers? Being in a people-centred role, relationship management is integral to creating a positive volunteering experience - if volunteers don't enjoy/feel appreciated for what they do, they can just walk. I often find I need to wear lots of hats so that I'm able to meet everyone's needs. Just recently I have: - pursued discussions on targeted skilled opportunities to volunteer with our sponsors - actively visited sites regularly to be more visible and accessible to volunteers - responded to volunteer access issue queries from other teams - freed up time to support recruitment of new volunteers in another department - planned/delivered a reciprocal visit for volunteers, in response to a lack of opportunities - proactively responded to a volunteer complaint To some extent these are all in my remit, though if I wasn't being versatile in responding to others needs, the impact on volunteer morale, opportunity and engagement would have been impacted. Are you versatile in how you engage with volunteers? #lovols #volunteerengagement #versatile #volunteering #volunteermanagement #accountability

Coordinating Dean of the five Faculties of the Chartered Institute of Taxation l, Nigeria at CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF TAXATION OF NIGERIA
Today is International Volunteer Day. On a personal level volunteering has given me access to many people, places and skills that I would otherwise have not reached or achieved. By volunteering at work for tasks others did not want to do I have gained valuable experience in topics and subjects that normally would be above my pay grade or level of officially delegated authority. This has meant that as I grew into higher roles or had to lead in difficult settings I already had the necessary skill sets to deliver results. Guaranteeing further personal growth. Volunteering in the community has given me valuable insights into what others are going through. Sometimes I can help make the difference for them, other times my awareness has meant that I do not do things that aggravate their issues. In all cases when you volunteer you are a winner. Have a great day. #volunteering #voluntarysector #volunteersmakeadifference #volunteeringmatters #learninganddevelopment

ARE YOU A VOLUNTEER??? This isn't a yes or no question unless you already know the technicalities involved in being a volunteer. After thorough thinking on how to convey the message of volunteering, I came up with the idea of doing collaborative work which is between Leader Uche Anyasie and me. We are volunteers in different capacities and we have those volunteering with us, hence, that has given us enough words to tell you. This isn't the regular content you get anywhere, anytime, or any day, it is specially packaged for future makers like you. Do you want this? Send YES to get it at a giveaway price. #OSM #IBP #IsraelUPublications #OSMPublications #volunteering
