Today is a special milestone for the Hello My PA team as we celebrate 9 years in business 🥳 With business stats in the UK telling us things like; 20% of businesses fail in the first year, 60% fail in the first three years, only a third make it to 5 years and 70% fail before 10 years, we are feeling super proud of ourselves and very excited to make it to the next milestone. On reflection, our business journey has certainly followed 'seasons': 🌱 2015 - 2018: Just getting started and working it all out! 🪴 2018 - 2019: Becoming an employer and starting team expansion 🌳 2020 - 2024: Navigating a global pandemic and the after effects as a service based business and growing quicker than our first 5 years. Our digital capabilities and agility has had a huge impact on our clients and on us 🌳🌳🌳 2024: Business growth planning and a re-brand on the horizon! 🤫 You heard it here first. We are in the process of doing for our own business what we do for our clients. For the first time in a LONG time, we have had some space to think about what we REALLY do for our clients and how we step that up and present ourselves going forward. We're looking forward to going into our tenth year with stronger foundations from which we can serve our business community 💪 But for now, here is to today and all of the lovely people who have helped us to get to this point 🫶 (Special shout out to the whole of the Welsh ICE team for all of their support and Annie's forever business buddies and friends Alexis Charkiw and Georgina Lewindon FCIM 📈 ❤️) #business #businesssuccess #supportsmallbiz

As we get into the holiday season and the end of the year, we thought it would be a great time to ask our business resources partners, "What are three things you'd recommend to small businesses to prepare for 2025?" Here's what Executive Director of Innovate Hampton Roads Tim Ryan said: 💡 Celebrate all wins, no matter how small they may seem. Running a business is challenging. Positive and forward momentum is essential when facing day-to-day challenges. 💡 You can manage what you don't measure. Consider what you need to measure; the numbers don't lie, and you can adjust your focus if needed. Your numbers may also uncover a win that you should celebrate! 💡 Prepare for the new year today! If you wait to start planning for the new year when the new year starts, it's already too late. Thank you, Tim Ryan and Innovate Hampton Roads, for your continuous support! This week's edition of the American Small Business Growth Program Insight Series is focused on the State of SMB in America Summit and Listening Session we held just over 2 years ago. We continue to listen deeply to small business owners and advocates and use their real experiences, needs, challenges and wisdom to inform how we build ASBGP. The conversation at this original State of SMB Summit was quite energetic and passionate! We created a public overview document, sharing the key ideas and take aways and I really encourage you to read it - it is only a few pages, but FULL of really important points of view. https://lnkd.in/ephN2BgJ Not surprisingly, we heard that there is a LOT of work that we need to do to truly meet the needs of small business owners in the US, and especially those from minoritized communities. The Top 3 Issues Surfaced: 1 - Expansive & Irrelevant Programming - small businesses are overwhelmed by how many programs are being offered to them, the significant majority of which they think are wasting their time instead of helping them 2 - Financial Resources that Miss the Mark - the significant majority of small business owners still cannot access capital that is affordable and fair, even if they are running good businesses 3 - Community Trauma & Industry Incertide - it cannot be ignored that so many small business owners carry the injustice and trauma of today's time and generations before us 3 Solutions Offered: 1 - Empower Small Community Changemakers 2 - Create Transformative Accountability 3- Align Mindset + Profit + Justice This deep listening session and the robust, juicy conversation that was had was critical back then and continues to influence the ongoing expansion of the American Small Business Growth Program. Personally, I am grateful for the loud call to action to stay relentless in building Silver Lining small-business-first and on a mission to use this business as a tool for justice. Thank you SO much to all who participated in this important conversation and for the impact you had in forming The American Small Business Growth Program with Wells Fargo - Shnesa Wiggins Shoshani Brown Jay Duquette Mieling Macias Toro Timothy Pereira Aaron Villarreal Amanda Murphy Valarie Valdepena Daniel Fitch Dr. AJ Austin and Christian Coach Certification Trainer friday jones Owl Rare Rebekah Borucki Julio Charry Kevin Wilson Juan Pablo Rivadeneira Jijón Ted Reiniger Nitika Semwal Omar Farahat Christopher Johnson Nicole Adler Mas Kim Erlichson #smallbusiness #WeAreSilverLining #smallisbig

As a busy business, we often get caught up in what's happening, and forget to look back at achievements. Taking a step back to reflect on the past year can be a very sobering thing to do. Putting the exhaustion, laughs, pain, joy, stress, triumphs and other tribulations into perspective is a must to maintain our sanity in this world that seems to change exponentially fast. https://lnkd.in/dHySiTXK In this article I briefly touch on many of the milestones that have taken place in the year of 2024.
