"You're worth taking five minutes at the beginning of a meeting to check in and just see how each other are doing. You’re worth taking ten minutes at the end of a meeting to say—How did this go? When did we do well, and when did it feel off? It's worth taking one day next month to just answer a few simple questions—What clarity do we need? How are we meeting the needs of the people outside of this team who rely on us? Do we know each other well enough to actually trust each other to a degree where we can collaborate well? When we take the time to actually ask each other really just good, solid, curious questions and listen well, it’s amazing what can get unpacked…” - Bennett Bratt To hear more of my conversation with team coach, Bennett Bratt, and learn more about the tiny steps you can take to help your team move past conflict and actually treat each other with care, I hope you will listen in. https://lnkd.in/e_AVC8c4 #teamcoaching #leadershipcoaching #transformation #communicationskills

What is stopping you from asking questions? Could it be fear? Not wanting to be seen not knowing... But, in this ever-changing world, who knows everything? Even what you knew yesterday might not be valid anymore today... In this excerpt from a working session on building high-performing teams I share two stories about how fear stops us from asking good questions. #TopTeams #highperformingteams #teamwork #performance #fear #questions

Ever feel a little lost on a project? Same here. Recently, I wasn’t 100% sure about something, so I asked my colleague if we could hop onto a quick 15-minute call to help me get clear on it. Honestly, that conversation made all the difference. Reminder: It’s totally cool to ask for help when you need it. That’s how we grow and get better at what we do. Super lucky to have a team that supports each other like this! 🙌 #Teamwork #AlwaysLearning #GrowthMindset #Communication

No one loves sharing bad news. But you know what’s worse? Surprising your team with silence. Surprises cause panic; transparency builds trust. When you include your team in conversations and decisions related to challenges, not only do you avoid unnecessary reactions, but you also create space for collaboration. And let’s face it, your team is a lot better at weathering storms when they know what they’re up against. If you're interested in learning more, I highly recommend Geri Suster’s book, Graceful Exits: Making the Case for Getting Good at Goodbye. Do you have experience sharing tough news with your team? Let's learn from each other in the comments! #ImpactLeadership #ConfidentCommunication #TransparencyMatters #GracefulExits #WorkplaceCulture
