It’s Blue Monday!💙 Try to make this Monday OK, check in on your colleagues and make sure their day is going as well as it can. If you feel or notice a colleague struggling why not try some of these ideas to raise a smile or distract them from Blue Monday: - Encourage colleagues to take lunch and breaks, encourage a healthy diet - good for general health, push regular breaks and eat in regular intervals which will help combat stress and depression. - Recognising good work, staff members can often feel demotivated - especially if they're feeling overworked and feel unnoticed. Whilst the third Monday of January has been known by some as the most difficult day of the year, Samaritans remind us that there is no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’. Individuals can experience good or bad days for differing reasons, they’re not to be decided by the calendar. Brew Monday encourages us to forget about ‘Blue Monday’, and instead start a conversation over a brew, whether it be with family, friends or colleagues. From a workplace perspective, we suggest using this day to take some time away from your regular work activities and sit down with your colleagues to have a chat. This helps foster an open and caring work environment for employees to feel comfortable and considered. #HRSupportLeeds

🌤️ Blue Monday: Turning the Blues into Positivity 🌟 Blue Monday, often called the “saddest day of the year,” falls on the third Monday of January. It’s a term coined to describe the post-holiday slump, short days, and financial stress that many feel this time of year. But it’s also an opportunity to flip the narrative and focus on promoting wellbeing and positivity. 💬💡 Last Friday, two of Equans UK & Ireland employee led networks Encompass and YPN joined forces to host a Blue Monday special session called “Spill the Banter.” It was an engaging and meaningful session focused on fostering a positive wellbeing culture here at Equans UK & Ireland 🌈 The turnout was fantastic, and it was amazing to see so many of you sharing insights, experiences, and plenty of laughs! We explored how small actions—like sharing stories, having open conversations, or simply showing kindness—can have a big impact on mental health and workplace morale. 💙 Let’s keep this energy alive beyond Blue Monday. Every day is an opportunity to check in with each other, support one another, and make Equans a place where positivity thrives.
