This weekend I had the amazing experience to travel to Fenway Park through my Fan Services internship with The Savannah Bananas. Years of work led up to this game, and we (pardon my French) fricking sold it out. I made a blog post about a few Fans First Moments I had, I'd love for you to check it out! ___________________________ “How are you enjoying the game?” I asked a security guard, John, who was positioned at a staircase on the backside of the stadium. And he thanked us. He thanked us for bringing fun baseball back to Fenway. He told me about his journey of working at the stadium since the 80s, where he started by selling beer in the stands. He told me how great it was to see kids running around and chasing down autographs. He told me that although he couldn’t see the game, he watched as fans gave their undivided attention to Matt Graifer and the player's pre-game show before gates opened. He told me his Grandpa came to Fenway to watch Babe Ruth pitch. He told me that his grandkids were there tonight. I didn’t say much, I let him tell me. He told me how much fun he was having. He told me that the stadium had more life in it than it did during the World Series. He told me that we brought the baseball community back to Fenway in a way he has never seen. He reminded me through his words why we do it. I don’t know who got more out of that conversation, him or I. Thrived through Flex Week, and the foosball madness was REAL! 🤪Ameer-Alrasyeed Ramdan Julius Pang Irene Wikanta Errik Wong From envisioning foosball dreams on paper to transforming them into 3D wizardry, it was a true tag team effort between students and lecturers, turning choas into creativity! Although we have some 'bandaged' foosball players😅, but those scars are badges of honor! As a new lecturer, every day feels like a wild foosball match—fast-paced, unpredictable, and a tad challenging! I always believe learning isn't just about what's taught, it's about the hands-on experience. Through this process, I've come to understand that education isn't a one-way street. It's a dynamic exchange where I'm not just the scorer, I'm a player in the game too. Dodging unexpected challenges, celebrating small victories, and occasionally getting "scored on" by these genius students has been an invaluable experience. This process mirrors the essence of our design journey—iterative, collaborative, and always pushing the boundaries. Recently I came across the concept of 'blue ocean strategy'. And I'd like to think Business Apprenticeship is an example. Blue ocean strategy is creating uncontested market space by developing innovative products or services that differentiate a company from competitors, rather than competing in crowded, existing markets (red oceans). One notable example is the Wii console by Nintendo, which introduced motion-sensing controllers that were designed to make games interactive with physical gestures, rather than the normal button presses. So if you're thinking of starting a business, are you better off thinking outside the box? How will you be different?

Journey of starting week of my internship. 🌟 Ever wondered how to light up the streets while keeping your circuits and your humor bright? Well, hold onto your LED hats, because we're about to embark on a journey of streetlight shenanigans! 🌟 Picture this: a bustling street, dimly lit by the glow of conventional streetlights. But wait, here comes our hero, armed with an ESP8266, an IC 74HC595, and an NTP server. Yes, you read that right - it's time to bring some tech-tastic magic to the mundane world of street lighting! First things first, we need precision timing, because we're not just any streetlight project, we're fancy! So, cue the NTP server - the unsung hero behind our synchronized illumination extravaganza. With NTP, our streetlights are as punctual as a Swiss watch, except way cooler because they're, you know, streetlights. But wait, there's more! Enter the IC 74HC595, the real MVP of our electrifying escapade. With its magical ability to control multiple LEDs using just a few pins, it's like the conductor of our LED orchestra 😅 . With a flick of its digital wand, it orchestrates a symphony of light that would make even Mozart jealous. Now, here comes the ESP8266, the brains behind the operation. It's the glue that holds our entire project together, ensuring that our streetlights not only shine bright but also stay connected to the magical realm of the internet. So, there you have it folks - a streetlight project that's not only illuminating but also downright hilarious. Because let's face it, who knew streetlights could be this much fun?
