🏥 Nonprofit Hospitals and Community Benefit: A Landscape Review🏥 New report from CHCF sheds light on community benefit spending by California's nonprofit hospitals. Key findings: 🔹 $8.7 billion spent on community benefit activities in 2020 🔹 92% of hospitals list access to care as a top priority 🔹 Estimated $2.6–$2.8 billion in tax exemptions (potentially higher) But the big question remains: Is the impact commensurate with the tax benefit? The report reveals: 🔸 Divided stakeholder opinions on community benefit impact 🔸 Lack of public data on tax exemption value 🔸 Potential misalignment between spending and community needs It's time for a discussion on maximizing the impact of community benefit programs. This information helps you, our donors and supporters, directly see the impact your donations and support For us to reach the Platinum level, we updated our information to our GuideStar Nonprofit Profile: basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward our mission of “Changing Lives, Healing Relationships, Helping People Thrive. Strengthening Families Today for Stronger Communities Tomorrow”. By taking the time to provide this information, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and giving donors and funders meaningful data to evaluate our performance.
