The environments we work in make a HUGE difference! Some people love being on their own… Others like massive call centre vibes where everything is 100mph! The Fresh office is unique! It’s chilled and relaxed… But busy and pressured! There’s always something going on… And every day is different! I love it 😍 I’ve found my ideal working environment! But it isn’t for everyone… Which we’ve found out in the past! Working in the correct setting is super important for getting the most out of you and your team… I’d even say it’s the difference between success and failure! The Way of Life   Travel broadens the mind is an oft used expression suggesting you should go out into this (mostly) beautiful world of ours and explore. To see new sights. To taste new food and drink. To meet new people and listen to new music. To sample the local culture. Maybe even pick up the odd cúpla focal while you’re out there. Hey, hold on! Go back there a tad …… Culture? A nice word, that, culture. The way of life. In the part of the world I’m in, Ireland, people associate having a laugh or the craic as part of the culture of the Emerald Isle.  I’m sure there are other elements of our culture foreigners think of but I can’t think of them at the moment. But that’s neither here nor there. Where were we? Oh, yes, culture. The attitudes, behaviour, and opinions of a particular group of people in society, a well-known dictionary tells me. The Irish definitely have all three in abundance. We love to talk. And listen, too. Ireland has only this millennium become what Britain became after the war. Multicultural. It’s every where we look. And not just in Ireland. Nowadays, we don’t have to travel anywhere to see other cultures playing out in front of our eyes. Multiculturalism is here on our doorstep. It is in the aisles of our shops, the floors of our factories, the offices of our buildings. Helping us navigate how people think and act in the workplace is no longer trying to understand Jenny in accounts or Tim in HR. Now there’s Paulo at the cutting machine and Agnieszka in sales. Jorge in marketing and Ania in the boardroom. We are no longer learning to deal with just the person in front of us or at the end of the phone, but with their culture too. Why are they thinking the way they are thinking?  Understanding, or decoding, their thought processes will not just make for a smoother work place environment, it would also make our world easier to explore.   The Culture Map by Erin Meyer is a great step in that direction 🏃♀️   #people #wayoflife #culture #theculturemap #erinmeyer

Hardworking May or SAY “cheese”, BE creative and GO viral💓 As Workland Offices Founder and CEO Indrek Hääl emphasized in his inspiring speech at LOGIN, “everything starts with coffee.” ☕️It’s the simple things that build community and bring people together, and this sentiment truly resonated throughout our May activities. May was a whirlwind of activity at Workland in Lithuania, filled with engaging events and meaningful connections. We kicked off the month with delightful #afterworks featuring Džiugas cheese tastings at Workland Didžioji, burger creation at Workland Quadrum and an inspiring Creativity Day at Workland Laisvės. We also successfully hopped into the vibrant tradition of #PinkSoupDay and presented inspiring coworking pink table.🙌 Amidst all this, we were also hard at work preparing for the big #LOGIN2024 conference, ensuring everything was in place for a fantastic event. While it was a challenging month, the partnerships we built and the communication results we achieved made it all worthwhile. Working with Nick Misani on the deco of Swan's new headquarters was so fun. We had a tornado of ideas related to our business, our tech, and even inside jokes, and he helped many of them come to life. I especially love the code on our meeting room doors. Swan's meeting rooms are quite typically named after European countries. That alone is not unique — but we took it further! We wanted to give a feeling of our tech culture and give a fun nod to the "localization" that is so important to what makes Swan different. Bear with me while I talk about banking features :) Swan allows companies to offer banking features to their customers, embedded into their own product: accounts with IBANs, cards with their own logo. And it's all localized: A Spanish company wants to offer Spanish accounts, with IBANs that start with "ES", with Spanish T&Cs, following Spanish laws. Every time we launch an office in a new country, we build up localized accounts for that country, with local IBANs. 📍 No, it's not so easy that a developer can just say "Let's add new letters!" 🤡 Swan goes through a long process to get local accounts and local IBANs set up in each country. So far, we already have IBANs starting with DE, ES, FR, NL, and IT is next. My IBAN is: FR76 3000.... haha JK. I'm not giving that to you — fraudsters! So, anyway, When a developer is building banking features into an app, they connect to our API. And there is specific code that allows to create local IBANs. We put that code across our meeting room doors.  The "Italian" room has the code for creating a local Italian IBAN starting with "IT," etc. That's just one of the details we put into the office, but there are many more, all over the place.
