Processes of determining underground water conditions at site 1. Desk study: Conduct a thorough desk study to review geological abd hydrogeological condition about the site 2. Site reconnaissance: Visit the site to observe site features, topography and potential indicators of ground water conditions 3. Geophysical surveys: Employ geophysical surveys like resistivity, seismic or electromagnetic surveys to gather subsurface data 4. Test drilling: Perform test drilling to collect soil and rock samples and install temporary monitoring wells 5. Aquifer testing: Conduct aquifer tests to assess hydraulic properties of the groundwater system.

It's probably as a result of the scarcity of trees here in the desert that the presence of those nests 🐦🥚 are getting more common around the Permian. Interestingly these birds seem to have a preference for #GasLift wells... Everything is been set for the implementation of a Dual Shot in this well. The #DualShot is an acoustic technique used to help troubleshooting gas lift wells by revealing communication points between the tubing and casing-tubing annular spaces above the liquid level. A week ago, Jack Racer shot a 115-acre 3D on his old Black River lease. Since then, I've provided a few snapshots of the data. Today I'm posting a more advanced look at the data and pose a question to those interested. In this display we have three existing wells. An oil producer in the south that came on strong after an acid job. A dry hole with no porosity in the center, and a well with good porosity which made some initial oil but quickly changed to a lot of water. We've also picked out two locations to drill based on structure and elastic impedance attributes. But we have a dilemma. The map on the left is structure where red and orange is high and blue is low. The center map is shear impedance whereby the low relative values are consistent with dolomite porosity. The VPVS map on the right is the problem. Both locations A & B are on structure with porosity. However, location A has a much higher relative VPVS than location B, and B has the same VPVS value as the producer in the south. Location A looks better with respect to potential reservoir size, but the large increase in VPVS is concerning. We are only going to take one shot here. If the first well is a dry hole than we end the program. We're open to hearing your choice between locations A & B, be it based on geophysics or not. One other note, this is the Trenton field of Indiana. It was heavily drilled between 1886 and 1904, so a lot of data has been lost to time. #oilindustry #seismic

Remember a couple years ago when the Crane geyser was erupting and I was worried about similar looking wells on the ranch where I live that had the same swedge at surface? Like this one in the video - the Wristen 79. Both Chevron and the RRC ignored me for months. Turns out, I had good reason to be concerned. The wellbore has now been excavated, surface casing cut and stubbed back to surface, and a wellhead installed. This is a 6000’ “dry hole” with only 600’ of surface casing. It has 420 psi on it now. And lots of open hole. How do you properly replug this one to ensure no future subsurface crossflow? And now, with the latest study from SMU, it appears thousands of wells in this area are at risk of being the next geyser. #cvxblowout #firechristi #oilandgas
