Have you as a salesperson of a medical device or pharma company ever faced the challenge of meeting important top Doctors? 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲: 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 Meeting doctors can be tricky because gatekeepers—receptionists or assistants—manage the doctor's schedule and decide who gets to meet them. They protect the doctor's time and can be very strict. Here's how you can navigate this challenge effectively: 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Sometimes, getting past the gatekeeper is tough. They are strict because they want to make sure the doctor's time is used wisely. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀: Always be friendly and respectful. Smile and greet the gatekeeper warmly. Clearly and politely explain why you need to meet the doctor. 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Plan what you will say to the gatekeeper beforehand. Practice being kind and clear. Have your business card ready and know the doctor's schedule. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: Doctors can sometimes tell their gatekeepers to allow certain visitors. If a doctor trusts you, they might help you by informing their gatekeeper. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳: Hospital staff can also assist. If you are nice and respectful, they might help you get an appointment with the doctor. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀: Always be patient and courteous. Remember, gatekeepers are doing their job to help the doctor. Showing respect increases the chances they will help you. See if you can relate to this : Raj faced a challenge getting past the gatekeeper at Dr. Mehta's office. He realized that being friendly and respectful could help. Every time he visited, he greeted the receptionist warmly and respected their time. Over time, the receptionist noticed Raj's politeness and began to help him schedule meetings with Dr. Mehta. Raj's patience and respect paid off, and he was able to build a good relationship with both the gatekeeper and the doctor. Next time you visit a doctor's office, remember the importance of gatekeepers. Be kind, respectful, and patient, and you'll find more doors opening for you.
