Social media has undeniably brought many benefits: 🤳: Global connectivity, 🤳: Easy access to information, 🤳: Platforms for self-expression. etc However, it has also contributed to a rise in jealousy, self-hatred, anxiety, and competition. Seeing other's successes can lead to feelings of inadequacy. The pressure to keep up with trends can create stress and anxiety. Online validation has become a measure of self-worth for many. While it's essential to leverage the positives of social media, it's equally important to recognize its impact on our mental health. #MentalHealth #DigitalWellbeing #SocialmediaEffect #AuthenticLiving #SocialmediaImpact

🧠 The personal, social and economic impacts of mental ill-health across society are devastating. For 75% of people who ever experience a #mentalhealth condition, symptoms start before the age of 24. Two-thirds of this group have their first symptoms before they turn 14. 📚 In spite of a lot of good-quality mental health research across disciplines over the last decades, there is much work to be done to ensure better outcomes across all the care stages, from prevention to treatment and support to stay in remission. On 19 June, IfM Engage and The William Templeton Foundation for Young People's Mental Health (YPMH) will co-deliver Collaborate to Innovate: Working together to transform mental health outcomes. If you are curious about how we might use #innovation #management methods to find new ways to help people live happier, healthier lives, we encourage you to register for what promises to be a stimulating event. 🗓 19 June 2024 📍 Institute for Manufacturing, Cambridge Peter Templeton Charlotte Catignani Tim Minshall Nicky Athanassopoulou Florian Urmetzer Peter Jones
