Spring break staycation in full effect! Since this guy could eat real food, we have gone on “cake dates.” This is what he called them at 1 years old because he has always loved pancakes. We would visit local coffee shops and diners for pancakes once a week. Our “cake dates” have gone from coloring the kids menu to having intellectual conversations about abandoned historic buildings and how to navigate friendships. This is when I can get my now “tween” to open up to me about life. We both cherish our “cake dates.” It’s a safe space. No one is too busy to carve out an hour or two once a week for a “cake date” with their kid. It’s on the calendar. No excuses. This is what matters. Ryder doesn’t care about my resume, my degrees, or what I am wearing, he cares that I have made our relationship a priority. Take this as your sign to pause for a few minutes, and plan something basic with someone in your life. Create your own version of a “cake date.” I promise, this will create an meaningful impact on both of your lives. #relationshipsmatter #workingparent #impactdaily

Wednesday's Word - Jolly 'Tis the Season! It has been a great season for Santa to be Jolly. I know this Santa has seen over 4,000 people at various places while visiting The Paley Center in NYC (and he will be there this weekend), condo buildings, office parties, networking events and more The word Jolly goes all the way back to the 14th Century according to Merriam-Webster Inc. Dictionary. Webster's defines Jolly(adjective) as: "a (1) : full of high spirits : JOYOUS think no more, lad; laugh, be jolly —A. E. Housman (2) : given to conviviality : JOVIAL a jolly companion b : expressing, suggesting, or inspiring lively happiness and good cheer : CHEERFUL jolly laughter 2 : extremely pleasant or agreeable : SPLENDID had a jolly time" There have been a lot of special moments this year with kids and adults smiling and being happy because they got to see Santa. Whether at work or school, with family or friends or in your community or with strangers - Be Jolly! Smile, hold a door open, give a compliment. You might just change someone's day! This won’t surprise you if you’ve followed me… I LOVE to ask questions. I especially love to ask questions that are designed to make me pause and reflect. A couple of years ago I started a practice of stopping midday to check in with myself around five powerful questions… 1. What am I grateful for today? 2. Who am I checking in on or connecting with today? 3. What expectations of “normal” am I letting go of today? 4. How am I getting outside and moving my body today? 5. What beauty am I creating, cultivating or inviting in today? As I write this, my answers for today are: 1. I’m inviting more time for rest with blocks of white space in my schedule. 2. A dear friend who is going through a challenging season is top-of-mind and someone I’ve checked in on twice already. 3. That I should ensure we have a home cooked meal every day so salad in a bag with a store bought roast chicken is on the menu this evening 4. Taco and I enjoy a daily walk plus time to enjoy the flowers and bushes in bloom in the garden (I wish you could smell the lilacs!) 5. Clipping some of those flowers and placing them in a vase on our hallway table ensures everyone gets to enjoy these beauties multiple times a day. This is hands down one of the best practices I have ever cultivated. What beauty are you creating, cultivating or inviting in today?

Don't let moments get away from you. Once the moment is gone, it can never be reclaimed which is why it is so important to find joy - whether it is in everyday activities, at work or at play. And that joy is yours and yours alone to decide on, to live and ultimately to share. Be sure to find it if you haven't already done so. My recent column. https://lnkd.in/g6ZY9bb6

Summer is here, and many of our calendars are filling up with BBQs, pool parties, and outdoor activities. As we embrace the festivities, often with a refreshing drink in hand, it's important to keep responsible consumption in mind. If you drive drunk and hurt someone, you are not only putting your (and others') health at risk - you are putting your finances at risk as well! We handle a ton of DUI injury cases, and to those who drink and drive, we say this: If you hurt someone while driving drunk, WE WILL COME AFTER YOU!!! But let's try to avoid that situation altogether through education, planning and responsible actions. To make sure our summer celebrations are not just fun but also safe, our team has put together three simple tips to prevent drinking and driving. Feel free to share this timely reminder with your network, and remember that we are here when you need us. Give us a call anytime. #bettersafethansorry #TeamDWC

Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🐣 In these days when the Easter spirit is spreading, we would like to share a little story with you about how a good staff association (De Skæve Lameller) can create an even better work environment. ✨☺️ Last Wednesday, we decided to add a little extra joy and laughter to our production and administration. One of our brave employees (Anne Rohde Andersen) dressed up as an Easter bunny and went around the entire company with Easter eggs for everyone. 🍫 It was a fun and surprising twist in our daily routine, and it put a smile on all of our faces. Despite the unusual sight of a full-size rabbit in our production, our Easter bunny was welcomed with open arms and lots of laughter. 😂 This small gesture from our staff association not only created an uplifted energy among the employees, but it also showed how a fun and unexpected activity can contribute to a better work environment. It is precisely such moments that bond us together and strengthen our collaboration. 🚀 De Skæve Lameller believes that it is the small, quirky details that make the difference and create unforgettable moments for our employees. 🥰 So let us remember that it doesn't always require big changes to improve our work environment. Sometimes it can be as simple as an Easter bunny bringing joy to us all. 🐰🐣 We wish you all a fantastic Easter and look forward to even more quirky moments together! 🌟 #arbejdsglæde #arbejdsmiljø #Personaleforeningen
Happy Easter everyone
