The word wellbeing is overused, but do we even know what it means? Why is it confusing? Because it means something different to each individual, each family, each team, and so on. Wellbeing is not just about meditation, exercising or eating your veggies. It is also not just about having a comprehensive workplace wellbeing policy. Wellbeing encompasses our sense of self and the ability to care for our needs so we can be our best in our lives, communities, and workplaces. Hence, there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution to foster wellbeing. What works for one person may not work for another, and the same principle applies to workplaces. Over the coming weeks, I will share some truths about wellbeing in bite-size chunks, hoping to debunk some misconceptions about wellbeing.
