One of the bigger names in healthcare, an industry which is at the forefront of shifting energy consumption and reducing emissions, is AstraZeneca. Here are a couple of highlights of how its ambitious net zero targets are tracking: 🎯 On track to reduce GHG emissions from our global operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 98% by 2026. 🥇 One of the first companies to have net-zero Scope 1-3 targets verified 🔬 It is the first pharmaceutical company to sign up to all three of the following Climate Group initiatives: 1) By the end of 2025 it will reduce absolute energy use and double energy productivity compared with 2015 (EP100) 2) It will use 100% renewable energy for electricity (RE100) and heat 3) It will maximise its transition to battery electric vehicles in our road fleet (EV100). The first pillar of our sustainability strategy is carbon management and we’ve been making big steps on our journey to net-zero. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint to 0tCO2e by 2030 (excluding raw materials) and by 2050 0tCO2e, including raw materials. Are green factories science fiction?   No, it is a reality and at Danfoss it is our daily business as we aim to be the preferred decarbonization partner for our customers.  I’m happy to share with you the release of our sustainability series "Decarbonization Explained,” where we bring industry experts, partners and customers together to share how cost-efficient technology and solutions can drive deep decarbonization of our most carbon-intensive sectors industry, transport, buildings and energy systems.  The technology exists already. We decarbonize with our customers by applying the same approach we use to decarbonize our own global operations. We have coined this three-step approach: Reduce, Reuse, Re-source.
