If you trust your inbounder, direct entry BLOBs can create easy scores and catch the defense off guard Direct entries allow players to supersede any play call to take advantage of poor defensive positioning

A lot of times when I see a team score in transition it is because the defense is not doing one or more of the following things… Every coach has their own ideas about transition defense and offensive rebounding. In the video you will see my analysis of the transition defense of the San Antonio Spurs vs the Sacramento Kings from last week. I have analysed the game through my eyes 👀 and rules which are: ❗Reacting on the shot (going to the offensive rebound/transition defense or tagging up) ❗Slowing down the 1st pass (no long and high outlets) ❗Slowing down the ball handler, be there on the 2nd dribble ❗Building a wall If you got value out of post: 1. Follow me @thomasroijakkers for more of these. 2. Share this post. “Take away 2, fight for the 3rd” 1 on 1 Closeouts The purpose of these closeout drills is to reinforce the habits needed to successfully implement the Man Left defense. Closing out is especially important because offenses will need to move the ball in order to create open shots and driving lanes. There are 3 offensive options when closing out on the ball. 1) Shoot (Don’t Allow) 2) Drive Right (Don’t Allow) 3) Drive Left (Force Them To) Remember, long closeouts equal open three-point attempts. Effort in closing out hard to the ball is extremely important. A lack of effort on defense will result in opposing players getting wide open shots. Technique is equally as important as effort in the Man Left defense.
