Celebrating wins - who would have thought something so simple could have such a powerful impact on a business? All 3 of our agencies WebSavvy Reform Digital and Above& Agency have a shared wins channel on our Slack for ease of communicating between one another some of our client wins, professional wins and even personal wins of team members 🙌 In a tough space where we are constantly problem solving and dealing with urgencies, it is nice to be able to drop some uplifting positives at any given time and brighten up a day. We also make an effort to highlight key team wins in company updates and have events/activations dedicated to this, but finding any way to promote a winning culture is a positive in my mind. I got into a spicy debate with our Senior Marketing & Revenue Manager this week. It was during a team meeting. It unfolded intentionally during a team meeting. We both have shared opposing views for awhile about what our domain should be on public facing assets like packaging, postcards, etc. Should it be teasewellness.com, or teasetea.com? We both presented valid points, having the collective team weigh in. I felt so strongly about my POV on this topic, I was relentless about it. I was this close to making an 'executive decision' that favoured my opinion and facts on the matter. But I knew that wasn't the best way to make the final decision. Nor was simply 'giving in' to put this ongoing debate to rest. So what did I do? I leaned on our values. One of our three core values at Tease is: IMPACT: "We examine the short and long term impact of our actions consciously, knowing that every action comes with reaction. We are not short sighted." At the end of the day, the opposing view displayed exceptionally well articulated thought out facts about how the domain they favoured is truly in the best interest of the company, and the positive impact. Choosing my preferred domain would risk short and long term negative impact. (SEO issues, customer / retailer confusion, amongst other things) So that settled it. The decision was made against what I wanted to do, and instead, was chosen in terms of what decision would yield the most positive short and long term impact for our business and stakeholders. Company values may seem like a fluffy thing with little 'value'. Make no mistake, when you're at a cross road they can end up being your critical, north star. ✨

You know you've got a great team when workdays don't feel like work (most of the time!). I'm so grateful for the awesome crew I get to create with. Constructive Doesn't Mean Cruel: Feedback is essential, but so is how it's delivered. We focus on solutions, not blame. Turns out, you can be honest and kind 👍 Owning Our Mistakes: We messed up that launch timing? Okay, let's dissect the misstep, fix what we can, and laugh it off (after a brief venting session, of course) 😅 No shame, only learning opportunities. Celebrating Little Wins: It's not just about the big projects. We high-five each other for a clever email subject line or a flawlessly executed social media campaign 🙌 Morale boost! The results speak for themselves: higher engagement, bolder ideas, and a genuine sense of camaraderie. But honestly, the best part is coming to work energized knowing I'm surrounded by talented people who have my back 💪 Shoutout to my amazing marketing team! It marks the first time a company is being honored during my tenure as Head of People and Culture. In September I stepped into the overall responsibility for all things People related at PIABO, where Steffen Beck laid a more than solid foundation for a special culture. We first met over ten years ago at diffferent, and I trust him immensely. Now my team and I have the chance to help nurture the PIABO vision set forth by Daniela and Tilo, who consistently embody our #values and are always open to being challenged. What I've learned so far in the last 9 month: 👉 Letting go of things is a superpower. 👉 Stepping out of your comfort zone is hard but helps. 👉 Change is the only constant.
