Another Journey Safely Completed Did you know that all the PGS S-class and Titan-class Ramform vessels use cradle-mounted workboat deployment and retrieval systems? Although #automation and #digitalization is now integral throughout our entire fleet, the vast scale of our towed equipment still necessitates small crewed workboats for various repair and maintenance activities. The calmest surface conditions and safest location to deploy and retrieve workboats is immediately behind the Ramform back deck. Only PGS offers these #safety platforms on seismic vessels. That's part of the reason why no one else can do what we do, day after day, anywhere on the planet. #OneCulture #SafetyFirst #MarineSeismic #SeismicVessels

🚢⚓ Mastering the Williamson Turn: Navigating Maritime Emergencies with Confidence ⛵🌊 1. The Williamson Turn: The Williamson Turn is a maneuver used to quickly change a vessel's course and return to the vicinity of a man overboard (MOB) position. Named after its inventor, Captain John Williamson, this maneuver is designed to minimize the distance traveled while maintaining visual contact with the MOB. To execute the Williamson Turn: Initially, turn the vessel 60 degrees to the right or left, whichever is the most expedient. Maintain this course for 60 seconds to allow the vessel to complete the initial turn. After 60 seconds, turn the vessel 120 degrees in the opposite direction, bringing it back on a reciprocal course to the original heading. Continue on this new course until the MOB is sighted or located. Mastering the Williamson Turn is essential for every mariner, as it provides a systematic and efficient approach to responding to MOB emergencies. By following established procedures and practicing regular drills, crews can respond effectively to emergencies and minimize the risk to life and property. 2. Man Overboard Procedures: In addition to mastering the Williamson Turn, it's crucial for crews to be familiar with comprehensive man overboard procedures. These procedures typically include: Initiating immediate alarm and alerting the bridge team. Deploying recovery equipment, such as lifebuoys or life rafts, to assist in the rescue operation. Maintaining visual contact with the MOB and providing continuous updates to the bridge team. Executing search and rescue patterns, such as the Williamson Turn, to locate and recover the MOB as quickly as possible. By ensuring that crews are well-trained and prepared to respond to man overboard situations, maritime operators can enhance safety standards and protect the well-being of their crew members. As we navigate the high seas, let's prioritize safety and preparedness in all aspects of our operations. By mastering essential maneuvers like the Williamson Turn and adhering to established procedures, we can navigate with confidence and ensure the safety of all onboard. #WilliamsonTurn #ManOverboard #MaritimeSafety #EmergencyResponse #SafeSeas https://lnkd.in/dWMXcamJ
