Self care awareness month starts from 24th June to 24th July, this symbolic day was chosen because self- care can be practiced 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. (As per WHO) with the theme of "looking after our mental health." Self care means taking time to do things to improve physical, mental and emotional health and well being. Self care has two parts: 1. Self care actions 2. Self care interventions 1. Self care actions include a. Eat a diet which is nutrient dense, moderate calories, moderate protein, low fat and a good amount of vitamins and minerals and fibre. b. Do yoga and meditation daily. c. Have a good sleep at least 6-7 hours a day. d. Practice gratitude. e. Prayer twice a day. f. Avoid taking alcohol and chewing tobacco. g. Limit the intake of tea and coffee. h. Forgive people and stay connected. Self interventions include: a. Herbal Medicine b. Digital app monitoring c. High quality drugs. d. Diagnostic measures For self care interventions, people should have good knowledge about it and feel comfortable using them independently. Or some people need guidance or support before accepting. Ashwagandha Root is still in the top 5 bought natural remedies for overall calmness and wellbeing. After using Ashwagandha Root now for over two months I can give you my honest opinion. For me I suffer from Hight Blood Pressure, an inherited health problem I've had to live with since I've been 23 years of age. I've been on blood pressure medication since I was 23 and yet now I'm in my late 50's I'm on very high doses of Blood Pressure Medication. This means if I forget to take my medication I'm fighting against myself to remain calm as without medication my anger levels can raise quite quickly. Just a fact of high blood pressure. Now, what I can tell you is, taking Ashwagandha Root for some reason makes me feel like nothing bothers me. A car can cut me off while driving - I might say "Idiot" but it doesn't bother me. I just seem to feel calm all the time, it's a great feeling, it also makes me feel relaxed and I find I can get to sleep at night very quickly. Any way I hope that might help those who might have been thinking about trying Ashwagandha Root. That's what it does for me and maybe it will do the same or better for you.
