Job Pathways is proud to work in the community of Balgo – one of our country's most remote communities – to support people getting employment, as highlighted in this recent ABC News article. Our team has been working alongside Wirrimanu Aboriginal Corp to establish a mechanical workshop in Balgo, including the purchase of equipment for the workshop, a trailer and other supplies. We are looking to host a basic small motors course to spark interest in this line of work and ensure an ongoing workforce for the workshop. We have also been working with Main Roads Western Australia to explore different ways to successfully attract and retain employees on the Tanami Main Roads project. One of these has been a group site visit, where community members from across the Tjurabalan visit the site. These jobseekers have previously shown interest in becoming operators for civil projects and have gone through introductory training to take on local employment. Job Pathways' CEO and CDP Regional Managers are also developing a civil work training package. The training package is being informed by local businesses, industry leaders, available formal training packages, work readiness skills and mentorship.
