This MLS midyear demo shows the growing reading room volume population. The avatar selects a volume generated from my Spotify account to play for the duration of the library tour. In this case Spotify is playing the first song from the Orange Dog Club 2023 album Summer is Dying. The MLS reading room holds 108 shelves in 36 cabinets. The volumes populating the shelves are divided into: Fiction, Nonfiction, Reference, Personal, Research, Arts/Music, Arts/Film. The general idea is that all my digital content is going into my personal library. Thus I replace the front ends of services like Facebook, Spotify, Netflix, NYPL, Amazon with my own AI driven MLS Library reading room front end. That way my specific Utility Function controls my front end access to digital content. So I don't get ads for Joe Rogan's podcast on my MLS front end, unless of course I agree to see that. MLS is injecting specific Utility Functions back into the distribution of digital content. Reminds me of a store we had in NYC - Murder Inc. which sold murder mysteries. MLS is dragging that shit back from the past. The Fiction volumes are typically Collected Works volumes for the given author - representing multiple physical books. The Nonfiction volumes are split between Collected Works, Podcasts, and Subject volumes. The Reference volumes are typically aggregation volumes: dictionary, atlas, consumer reports, etc. I include Reference subjects/topics like the cokelley Climate volume. I also include personal library references like Hemingway's library or Julia Child's library as well as family libraries. The Personal volumes include family and workplace volumes as well as subject volumes e.g., inventory of the furniture in my apartment. The Research volumes are subject aggregations such as: Real Analysis, ARM Code, or Copyright. The Arts/Music volumes are pulled directly from my Spotify account list of albums. The Arts/Film volumes are pulled directly from IMDB and are backed by my Criterion Collection and Netflix accounts. https://lnkd.in/ebZfagGz
