Since the beginning, our goal at SkinnyDipped has been to create delicious products that are low in sugar, made with real ingredients, and are blood-sugar friendly.   Our CEO and co-founder, Breezy Griffith, recently spoke with Modern Retail about the critical role of simplicity and authenticity in today’s consumer market and how it’s informed our new look.  "Health concerns about sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners means people are reconsidering returning to regular sugar in moderation. She said the brand gained a following of pre and diabetic people due to its low-sugar recipes, who help inform future product launches. A huge thanks to Adam Leyland at The Grocer for including us in his recent introduction to all things invention and innovation in the soft drinks category as part of The Grocer Soft Drinks Focus. We set out to create FHIRST Living Soda, with very clear guiding principles: to create a great tasting soda that functionality went above and beyond anything available in the market to date, that would help people make healthier choices when it comes to their soft drinks and bring people back into a category that has historically under indexed on health benefits. After two years of development we finally launched FHIRST in March '23 bringing a fhirst of its kind soda to the market, giving consumers the ultimate when it comes to a functional soft drink - a gut lovin' soda with probiotics and prebiotics, zinc for immunity, zero sugar or sweeteners, that tastes great and is science backed, with our cultures proven to reach the gut, where they are meant to be. Confetti Snacks, a vegetable chip company that uses upcycled ingredients, has won the SNAC Tank Pitch Competition at SNAC International's SNX 2024. "How can we solve two major problems (starvation and food waste) facing the world today?" asked Betty Lu, founder and CEO of Confetti Snacks - Marvellous Veggie Chips. "We take 'ugly' produce, upcycle them to delicious and crunchy baked snacks and season them with award-winning seasonings inspired by cultures of the world." I asked them to change their packaging and they did!! ' Brands that listen to feedback>>>> If you guys remember I tried out Kilobeaters and shared my feedback om this very platform a few weeks ago. Here is the recap- Product = 10/10, Packaging = Dumpster fire. They reached out to me looking for more feedback and they actually implemented the suggestions, woohoo! Their new packaging looks amazing! They sent me a ton of new products to try, but I to be honest- I am very loyal to my Amarnath seed cookies!! They are literally the best product Kilobeaters have launched. Chocolate cookies? Yummy. Just a heads up, if you're besties with sugar, they might seem a tad bitter. Time to break up with sugar, perhaps? Their breakfast fix- quicky- is the perfect fit. It's high on protein, low on sugar and carbs, and has no added sugar, unlike your other cereals. Now, the nut mix – not my favorite. It has a strong garlic taste, which isn't really my thing. But if you're into that, give it a shot! All in all, Shyma Menon & Kishan Menon, great work with the packaging and the new products. Keep going! Rooting for you. Ever get 15,000 steps 👣 per day for 2 days straight?  It was my first time at Expo West when I wasn’t exhibiting and it was glorious! 🙏 I actually got to walk the booths at my pace, talk to founders and business leaders, try everything I wanted to, and identify some potential opportunities for Palm Venture Studios.  Overall, there is tremendous oversaturation in many categories (functional bevs, jerky, salsa, chocolate, bars, hydration, etc.) and most of these brands won’t make it. 😢  I cannot share my full list, but I will share 9 brands who were truly differentiated, run very well, and were quite impressive in technology, taste, and more, including: 1) Pan’s Mushroom Jerky, formerly featured on Shark Tank, great family recipe - easily the best mushroom jerky out there. 2) MyFOREST Foods mushroom bacon won a NEXTY award and you would see why if you tried it. 3) Oobli had the most interesting protein - one that is actually sweet!  Only found near the equator, this plant was identified by Oobli and they did tons of R&D on it, then decided to create a brand (teas, now chocolate). 4) Seltz water activated vitamins - launched in LatAm and coming to the US with 4 flavors that each have functional benefits. 5) Ghetto Gastro healthy version of pop-tarts were the coolest in terms of branding/style and tasted good. 6) Tea Drops - cleaner than bagged tea, easier than loose leaf. 7) Both Burger - don’t want to be vegan, but want to be healthier?  These guys make a burger that is half beef, half veggie. 8) Fresh Blends - self-cleaning smoothie vending machine - great in person, nice video on their site. 9) Mezcla - bar category is saturated, but this one is low in sugar, has unique flavors, and is really good. I’m sure I will get a few comments on brands I missed, so feel free to hmu. 📱 Looking forward to more shows in the future as the food/bev/nutrition space continues to evolve. 🚀

Mr. Beast and Logan Paul are set to turn their new venture, Lunchly, into a billion-dollar brand. But the question is—at what cost? The kids' lunch market has been ripe for disruption. I mean, I remember eating the same Lunchables that are still on shelves today—over two decades ago! With Kraft Heinz doing over a billion dollars in sales annually from Lunchables alone, it's clear this space has massive potential. Now, enter Lunchly, created by MrBeast, Logan Paul, and KSI. Here's my take: What I Like About Lunchly: 1) Less sugar compared to Lunchables—a positive shift in a market where kids' nutrition often gets sidelined. 2) Innovation Flexibility: Lunchly isn't tied down by the legacy structure of a giant like Kraft Heinz, giving it room to experiment. What I Don't Like: 1) Minimal Differentiation: The products are almost identical, with two key swaps really driving the difference in sugar/overall macros—Capri Sun replaced by Prime and real cheese instead of a "cheese product." While that sounds promising, real cheese (low-moisture part-skim mozzarella) could be a shelf-life challenge, potentially lasting only 3 months when refrigerated. Logistics could be tricky here so I hope they have that figured out. 2) Missed Opportunity for True Innovation: Lunchly could have been a game-changer by creating a truly "better-for-you" option. How about ditching vegetable oils or creating a protein-packed crust or protein nachos? As a parent, I'd gladly pay a premium for a higher-protein, higher-quality meal option for my kids—especially to support creators like Mr. Beast and Logan Paul. That said, this brand will undoubtedly dominate the space and has everything in place to succeed. I have the utmost respect for those Mr. Beast, Logan, and the whole Congo Brands team. I just hope they take it a step further and innovate beyond nostalgia—bringing real nutritional value to kids' meals. The potential is there. A simple to understand but a truly differentiated product innovation that you just feel *cool* to know about ↳ Funky Mello is the marshmallow whip from your childhood, but with aquafaba ↳ Uncle Waithleys Beverage Company is an extra spicy ginger beer with Scotch Bonnet Pepper! 3. A product that MOST people find utterly delicious ↳ Like, have you tried Evergreen? They're waffles made with veggies but taste like carrot cake. ↳ Darë Vegan Cheese has a cult following from local farmers markets 4. And pre-existing investments, awards, and/or distribution into regional chain retail ↳ Myles Comfort Foods was in all Nugget Market, Inc. stores. ↳ shār was a Good Foods Award Winner and was well-distributed in Austin, TX ↳ Painterland Sisters is already in over 2,000 doors in 49 states ____ So, don't submit the application for Whole Foods Market QUITE YET.
