Autumn 2024 #AsiaWeek might be over, but we're keeping it going here at #HeritageAuctions with two spectacular Signature Auctions featuring two remarkable Asian Art collections.
The September 24 Fine & Decorative #AsianArt Signature Auction is a beautiful compilation of more than a dozen distinguished U.S.-based collections of significant objects from Japan, China, and beyond. The collections boast collector names that keen-eyed connoisseurs notice when scouring a season’s auction schedule: Ruth Sylvia Nelkin, Princess Maria Romanoff, Dr. John Ross, the Kestenband Collection, and works from the collections of military commanders like James B. Linder and Lu Jingcun lead the fall auction with exquisite works in cloisonné, important ink paintings, jade and jadeite, Tang dynasty terracotta and more.
On September 25, the second auction of the series, Japanese Woodblock Prints from The Nelkin Collection Part II Signature Auction, will take place. This auction features a carefully selected collection of surimono, including Red Raku Teabowl by Kubo Shunman from the series Five Colors of Tea Utensils and Hokusai’s A Bride Holding a Fan (Congratulatory Wedding Poem). This auction also presents a strong selection of shin-hanga prints from Kawase Hasui, Yoshida Hiroshi, Ito Shinsui, Yamamura Koka, and many other iconic artists of the movement.

An amazing story about AMAZING STORIES. 💥 This key issue was a major turning point in the early days of the most iconic sci-fi pulp series. It featured the first appearance in any medium of sci-fi adventure hero Buck Rogers!
The success of Amazing Stories would go on to inspire other adjective-laden sci-fi titles, including Astounding Stories, Famous Fantastic Mysteries, Thrilling Wonder Stories, and countless others. However, no combination of these adjectives can define how impressive a CGC NM/MT 9.8 pulp truly is.
Not only is it a 9.8 pulp, but it is also a highly sought-after issue that commands premium prices even in low—and mid-grade copies. Frank Paul's classic cover appears as vivid as it did nearly 100 years ago, with no visible wear to the issue's oversized covers and spine.
Find this Amazing Story in the Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction, starting tomorrow, September 12, at noon and running through the 15th. https://lnkd.in/g3n33v-f
