A small amount for you could make a huge difference for children in Norfolk living with grief. Ever find yourself realising you don't make enough use of your monthly subscriptions? Why not cancel one streaming-service and send the money to a good cause instead? https://lnkd.in/euaYHm9W It's really easy to set up, click that link, or scan the QR in the pic, to be taken straight to our regular giving donation page. Setting up a regular monthly payment to Nelson's Journey could help fund so much of what we do here at Smiles House. From our support line, the first point of contact for many people concerned about how a child or young person is dealing with the death of somebody in their lives, to the teddy bear each child is given when closing their final session with one of our Child Bereavement Support Workers, and the therapeautic activity weekends many of those under our service attend, costs for the charity are ongoing. Making a monthly gift for Nelson's Journey not only means you'd be directly supporting bereaved children & young people in Norfolk, you’d also be helping us shape our future too. 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 - The Switch Witch. I’d like to thank whichever smart person invented the concept of the Switch Witch, who comes to children on Halloween night, replacing their candy with a prize of your choosing. After all, kids don’t need all that candy! But neither do their parents, so what to do with the overflow (once you’ve sorted out the good stuff for yourself, of course!)? 𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗔: Operation Gratitude, which ships the candy to U.S. Troops, is one possibility. Other local options include dropping it off at children’s hospitals, homeless shelters or food pantries, or nursing homes. Make sure to call first to make sure they will accept the donation due to Covid-19. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲: http://ow.ly/moZH50GxFqp 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘆.

Latest update!
Update on Compassion Coffee! Back in 2018, God gave us a vision to start a church with a heart to show compassion to those in need. Compassion Church was born as a result, along with the vision for Compassion Coffee. We started Compassion Coffee because of our deep desire to love our community well. While we currently operate a coffee cart, the dream is to open a brick and mortar coffeehouse! A coffeehouse not only gives us the opportunity to bring joy to Anoka every day through kindness and coffee, but also provides an opportunity to make a practical difference in the community by employing people affected by homelessness. While Compassion Coffee has always been wholly owned by Compassion Church, we’re excited to share that Compassion Coffee is now nonprofit! The main reason for this is that it allows us to share Compassion’s story more clearly and creates more opportunities for people to financially support. Our focus this year is to establish a training program and get the coffeehouse open! As we put time and energy into that, we also need your financial support. We’d love for you to consider a one-time or recurring donation, which is now tax-deductible. Donate here - https://lnkd.in/gmHCq8-v Thank you so much for your ongoing support! We’re confident there are some great things in store for 2024!!

Catalyzing change and healing in the anti-trafficking space through Humansave | Leading individuals and companies through a journey of connectedness and fulfillment.
90 second clip to give you more context on “rescues” such as this one at the San Diego Comic Con. Rebuilding takes TIME. Once the operations are over, once the news stops caring, these individuals are left to pick up the pieces. Organizations like Humansave are here to make sure they don’t have to do it alone. A powerful biproduct of healing is that the person who’s healed tends to bring healing into the lives of others too. Often within their homes and commmnities, and sometimes, they’re also the beacons of light guiding victims and survivors to freedom and safety. Healing brings about more healing. If you’re into making this kind of impact in the lives of not only the survivors we serve and the generations who come after them, but also on all the people whose lives they have yet to touch, consider making a tax deductible donation: Humansave.org/donate **Also, going to point out here that the 16 yr old girl mentioned would not be protected under SB1414 as it stands, and that anyone who bought her for s3x would be facing only misdemeanor charges. 🤯 . . . #healingjourney #traumatrcovery #traumahealing #mentalhealthmatters #therapy

If you've been considering a donation to a local org during GiveBIG, I'd love your support at my fundraising link for Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. As a board member, I know just how far a donation of $10, $15 can go to help more youth. The clubs offer a place for growing, learning and playing. BGCSPS also supports amazing things outside of the clubs including Teen Mental Health First Aid training - a program that coaches teens in grades 10-12 or ages 15-18 on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use, challenges among their friends and peers. Some things to know: - BGCPS served 5,100 young people in 2023 (up 57% from the previous year) - 71% served are Black, Indigenous or people of color - 52% live in single-parent households Give: https://lnkd.in/gS5sqQ56

🌟 Watching the Olympics? At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, several athletes have shared powerful stories of overcoming adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), such as mental health issues and financial hardships, deeply resonating with the mission of Prevent Child Abuse America. Simone Biles, who won gold in gymnastics, had a challenging upbringing marked by instability and foster care before being adopted by her grandparents. Despite these hardships, Biles's success underscores the impact of a supportive and loving environment. Prevent Child Abuse America aims to ensure every child has a safe and nurturing home, much like the environment that allowed Biles to flourish and become one of the greatest gymnasts in history. Noah Lyles, gold medalist in the men's 100m, courageously opened up about his struggles with depression and anxiety. His journey from battling mental health challenges to becoming an Olympic champion underscores the transformative power of support and resilience. Just as Prevent Child Abuse America provides crucial resources and interventions to support children's mental health and well-being, Lyles benefitted from similar support systems, enabling him to thrive despite his challenges. Lydia Jacoby faced financial challenges growing up in a small town in Alaska. Despite limited resources, she secured a gold medal in swimming. Her story exemplifies how determination and community support can help overcome financial barriers. Prevent Child Abuse America’s mission to ensure children grow up in nurturing environments mirrors the support Jacoby received from her community, helping her achieve her dreams despite financial constraints. These narratives highlight the importance of creating supportive environments for children, much like the mission of Prevent Child Abuse America. By ensuring children have access to the resources they need to thrive, we can help children overcome adversity and achieve their full potential. Your donation can provide critical resources, mental health support, and safe homes for children in need. Donate here: https://lnkd.in/eUNncpXC. 🌟 #Olympics2024 #MentalHealth #Resilience #SupportChildren #PreventChildAbuse #DonateNow
