🌲 Pet safety alert: Watch out for pesky pines! 🌲🔍 You might love the beauty of a real Christmas tree, but it can pose serious threats to your precious pets. As we dress our homes with sparkling Christmas trees, remember your pets might be at risk. Prickly pine needles not only give your pets a hard time if swallowed, but their sharp leaves can also inflict cuts inside their mouth or throat, and create discomfort if stuck in their tummy. Even more, these needles can get lodged in their paws or, worse, damage their eyes leading to a painful festive season for them. An easy solution? Opt for Christmas trees with low needle drops such as the Nordman or an artifical tree. #EyeVet #CommittedToExcellence #ProudlyEyeVet #ProudlyLinnaeus

🌞 Summer Heat Alert for Pet Owners! 🌞 As the temperatures rise, it’s crucial to ensure our furry friends stay safe from two major summer hazards: hot pavement and the dangers of leaving pets in cars. Let’s keep our pets happy and healthy with these essential tips: Hot Pavement: 🔥 Scorching Surfaces: Pavement can become unbearably hot, especially during midday. A quick test: if you can’t comfortably hold your hand or foot on the pavement for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet's paws! 🐾 Timing is Everything: Schedule walks early in the morning or late in the evening when the ground is cooler. These times are not only more comfortable for your pets but also safer. 👟 Protective Gear: Invest in protective booties for your pets. These can provide a barrier against the heat and keep those delicate paws safe. Consider short walks in shaded areas or grass when comfortable to do so. Cars and Heat: 🚗 Dangerous Traps: Never, ever leave your pets in a parked car, even with the windows cracked. Temperatures inside a car can skyrocket to deadly levels within minutes. 😓 Heat Stroke Warning Signs: Be vigilant for symptoms of heat stroke in your pets, such as heavy panting, excessive drooling, lethargy, and vomiting. Quick action can save lives. 📞 Take Action: If you see an animal in distress in a parked car, don’t hesitate—contact local authorities immediately. Your prompt response could mean the difference between life and death. Remember, our pets rely on us to keep them safe. Let’s enjoy a fun and safe summer together! Share these tips to spread awareness and protect our furry companions from the summer heat. 🐶🐱❤️ #PetSafety #SummerHeat #ProtectOurPets #PetCareTips #DrJessicaVogelsang

🌞🐾 Summer Pet Safety Tips! 🐶🐱🌡️ As the temperature rises, let’s keep our furry friends safe and cool. Here are some essential tips: 🐾Never leave pets in parked cars: Even with cracked windows, cars can become dangerously hot. It takes minutes for a closed car to reach 140°F, which can be fatal for pets. 🚗☀️ 🐾Stay hydrated: Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Frozen baby carrots or celery soaked in chicken broth make great chilled snacks for dogs. 🥕🐕💧 🐾Watch for ticks: Use tick preventatives and check your pet for ticks after outdoor adventures. 🌿🐾 🐾Brush your cat: Regular brushing helps cats shed excess fur and keeps them cooler. 🐱🌞 🐾Increase walks during cooler hours: Early mornings or late evenings are ideal. Pack water for both you and your pet. 🚶♀️🌅🐾 🐾Create a cooldown: Set up a kiddie pool with ice cubes and water for your dog to splash around in. 🏊♂️🐶❄️ Remember, our pets rely on us to keep them safe during the summer heat! 🐾❤️ #TexasOilLady #PetSafety #SummerTips

Fans and cooling mats can also help. 🐶 Know the Signs of Heatstroke: Heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, and uncoordinated movements are warning signs.
