For anyone experiencing the issue, the director of Crowdstrike (the software at the source of the problem) has stated that it's a faulty channel file and recommends the following until there's a better solution: 1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or WRE. 2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike 3. Locate and delete file matching "C-00000291*.sys" 4. Boot normally. Of course, in many cases, this isn't possible (in part due to built-in windows disk encryption), or is incredibly difficult, hence the scale and persistence of the issue.
