Reasons why I DID post this remote job: ▶ under preferred experience, it said "Nice to have: EdTech/teacher lens" ▶ asked for 7+ years product experience or HS teaching experience ▶ they opened the job description saying "we find educators within the K-12 space to be successful in this position" ▶ a People Manager role looking for "experience training and mentoring others" and open to various career experiences/levels. They even outlined different expectations for experienced and first-time people managers so that no one would rule themselves out unnecessarily. One criteria I use when I curate jobs is that they're looking for educators or edtech expertise -- while you can do many jobs outside of education, edtech and education-adjacent organizations solve problems you understand deeply and where your skills and expertise are a powerful combo. And we need to make sure that (former) educator's voices are integrated into every department and integral in driving product decisions as these products become more a part of our education system. ––––––––––––– 🙋♀️ Hi! I am a training professional with experience creating content to train users and admins on how to use a SaaS cloud-based system. I've created a certification program from scratch, I am a Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) through Training Industry, and I am dang good at training content creation. I have also been on a technical support team, co-lead that support team, and trained up junior agents. I even co-led a DEI Council and have plenty of experience working with partner organizations to help boost DEI efforts.
