Bradley | M242 Bushmaster (25mm M791-APDS) vs T 80 Side Armor - 4 Round Burst simulation In the arsenal of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle lies the formidable M791 munition, a projectile propelled by the M242 Bushmaster cannon. While it may not possess the sheer power to breach the heavily armored sections of a modern Main Battle Tank, it remains a potent threat capable of inflicting significant damage when directed towards vulnerable points such as tracks, sensors, or less fortified areas of the hull. In a simulated engagement scenario, a meticulously aimed four-round burst from the Bushmaster demonstrates its potential, successfully penetrating the comparatively thinner side armor of the T-80. This outcome underscores the capability of the M791 munition toinflict serious damage that can possibly lead to mobility kills, effectively neutralizing the target's maneuverability and operational effectiveness. #simulation #explicitdynamics #ansys #defence #API #armorpiercing #T80 #Bradley #M242 #bushmaster

As we approach the weekend, I leave you with this fascinating video showcasing the F-22 Raptor's internal weapons bay capabilities. The F-22, a pinnacle of aerospace engineering, is equipped with a sophisticated internal weapons bay designed to maintain its stealth profile while offering formidable firepower. Here's what's tucked away inside: - One internal M61A2 20 mm gun, boasting 480 rounds, provides a lethal option for close-range combat. - Two AIM-9 Sidewinders are housed inside internal weapons bays, offering advanced infrared-guided air-to-air combat capabilities. - Six AIM-120 AMRAAMs can be accommodated for an air-to-air loadout, highlighting the Raptor's versatility and readiness for multiple aerial threat scenarios. For an air-to-ground configuration, the bay can carry two AIM-120s and two GBU-32 JDAMs, or eight Small Diameter Bombs (SDBs), ensuring adaptability across mission types. This video not only showcases the raw power of the F-22 but also highlights the intricate engineering that makes such capabilities possible. #AerospaceEngineering #SystemsEngineering #F22Raptor #MilitaryAviation #WeaponSystems

So, there are some things that the 🇬🇧 does rather well: (1) understatement; (2) complaining about the weather; (3) humour; (4) innovation; and (5) upgrading its Main Battle Tank ("MBT"). The MoD has just unveiled the latest Challenger 3 MBT prototypes which will start entering service in significant numbers in 2027. The Challenger 3 has a modular design allowing various components to be replaced/upgraded ... and includes a laser warning system which automatically detects threats and automatically slews the gun to point at the source of the threat, making it quicker for the crew to counter-fire. It also ditches the UK's previous preference for a rifled gun and goes instead for a smooth bore design allowing interoperability with our NATO allies, especially Germany, in terms of both ammunition sharing and ammunition technology development. It also includes so called "UK-Sovereign" armour i.e. highly innovative advanced armour developed by the UK. So whilst the UK may be great when it comes to comedy ... it's equally no laughing matter staring down the barrel of a Challenger 3 ... #patents #challenger3 #technology #mbt #mbip #armour #innovation

For modern combat vehicles it becomes more and more important to balance optimal power with the limited space on board and critical mission parameters. These vehicles are highly complex technology platforms with ever increasing demands for power supply, reliability, and flexibility. And for strategic deployment in the field, noise and associated detection can be a decisive disadvantage. Soon #Eurosatory will kick off in Paris. At our booth K311 in hall 6, we want to show you the concepts we have to tackle these challenges in Land Defense. Come and talk to our team there! #governmental #landdefense

Adapt mindset, adapt tactics, techniques, and procedures or suffer the consequences…talk to us about the Organically Designed and Built (ODB) sUAS Course
It’s always interesting speaking with US forces on drone threats. It doesn’t seem like most US military branches understand how fast this is advancing or the level of threat these pose. The days of door kicking, foot patrols and other infantry type tactics will most likely be over as exposed elements and it will need to adjust heavily. The drone war won’t be about expensive platforms, but conducted in the sub $750 mark with 3D printers. If you are not already learning, teaching and using these platforms as a force multiplier. You’re far behind the curve. What these platforms in photo are capable of penetrating, the amount of frag they throw on detonation And the speed at which they fly has forever changed the battle space. #TheLeaflet

Asia Pacific militaries are slowly adopting various elements in new or incumbent vehicle fleets to improve their survivability, situational awareness, firepower and mobility, partly in response to lessons being learned from current conflicts. The Australian Army‘s AS21 Redback IFV has many of the elements discussed in this article being integrated on the finished design. Fitted with Soucy tracks and boasting extremely good #armour protection, it also has the Iron Fist Light Decoupled APS fully integrated onto the T2000 turret, as well as the IronVision see-through-armour system.
