Your Summer weekend has arrived! Selecting a Weekend Hotel with Google and TripAdvisor Stars Stars can be a helpful starting point, but they shouldn't be the only factor when choosing your weekend hotel. Here's how to leverage Google and TripAdvisor star ratings alongside other resources: Google Maps: Please look for hotels in your desired location with at least a 4-star rating on Google Maps. This indicates a generally positive guest experience. TripAdvisor: Filter by overall rating on TripAdvisor. Aim for hotels with at least a 4-star average. Look beyond the average. Explore the distribution of ratings. A hotel with many 5-star reviews and a few lower ratings might be a better choice than one with a flat 4-star average. Beyond the Stars: Read Recent Reviews: Focus on reviews from the past year to get the most up-to-date picture. Look for reviews mentioning "weekend stay" to see if the hotel caters to weekenders. Pay Attention to Review Content: Don't rely on the star rating. Read reviews to understand why guests liked or disliked the hotel. Focus on aspects important to you, like cleanliness, comfort, noise levels, and amenities. Compare Photos: See if the hotel's photos on both platforms match the descriptions and your expectations. Do this, and your weekend hotel stay should make a splash! #tripadvisor #googlemaps #hotel #hospitality #weekend

Using the phrase “Feels Like Home” in hotel advertising might seem appealing, but it can be one of the worst ways to attract guests. Travelers seek new and exciting experiences, not a replication of their daily routine. The phrase is generic and overused, failing to highlight what makes your hotel unique and special. As one manager put it, “If you want to feel at home, then stay at home.” This underscores the importance of offering guests something extraordinary and memorable, far beyond the comfort of their own homes. To truly captivate potential guests, focus on the unique, luxurious, and exceptional aspects of your hotel. #hotels #onlinereservations #generalmanager #hospitality #oxyconversions
