At the site of the works, rescuers of the State Emergency Service dismantled 76 tons of construction structures. As a #result of yesterday's Russian #shelling, 14 people died and 44 people were injured. Out of 8 unidentified bodies, police forensics identified 5: three women and two #children - girls born in 2012 and 2014. It remains to identify 3 #people. Hypocrisy and Virtue Signaling Mayorkas (DHS) and Wray (FBI) pay tribute to our 911 fallen warriors - thank you both. I was only 20 blocks away when the second tower imploded 23 years ago, so I know the terror and chaos that followed. And I, too, pay tribute. At the same time, Mayorkas blithely bloviates that securing our homeland is DHS's most fundamental mission. Wray bloviates in the same way but adds the ominous warning that Americans are more at risk from terrorists today than ever before, and disturbingly...another 911 is possible. But hold on a minute - I smell hypocrisy and virtue signaling. While preaching security on the one hand, they facilitate terrorism and drug addiction on the other by refusing to close and secure the border. The proof is in the pudding: Thirteen million illegal immigrants entered the U.S., including 378 on the Terrorist Watch List, likely hundreds of terrorist gotaways, and fentanyl contributing to 100,000 deaths a year. Communities are in disarray, cops are defunded, disparaged, and overworked, and citizens are attacked. Yet, both Feds continue to preach, prance, and pontificate. Shame on you! nope. It isn't #fakenews. For what is now two days in a row, #Israel executed an almost movie-like maneuver, detonating explosives via personal communication devices throughout #Lebanon and #Syria. The framing by a number of news outlets, and particularly the New York Post is beyond chilling, in their tone and gross depiction of so many innocent civilians as “#terrorists.” As much as they claim to be targeted, these attacks are indiscriminate by design. They continue to beg the questions: who is a just target? Why are the lives of some so easily reduced to “collateral damage?” These acts injured countless civilians, creating chaos and a rising death toll – including a nine-year-old girl. They are a stark reminder of the dangerous trajectory we’re on if #Israel is allowed – and enabled – to act with #impunity.... A stark reminder of the risks involved for all of us, especially in the current era of #techempowered warfare, if it goes #unchecked and unhinged. The lack of just coverage and insistence on dancing around the buzzword here – #terrorism – is an unsurprising dance whose refrain is beginning to take a devastating toll, not just on the Arab World, but well beyond- and for #humanity all together.

In this scenario, the calmness of each individual which is reflected in the whole group is key to seeing the next day. Negotiation with the terror outfit Al-Shabaab becomes a priority. Meanwhile, these are the times when the worst case scenarios, previously simulated, are tested. The documented emergency procedures are revisited. 💡NCITE's Austin Doctor, head of counterterrorism research initiatives, shares thoughts on today's news about the death of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas. 1️⃣ When a terrorist leader dies, impact assessments are conditional on who steps in as a successor. If Hamas chooses to replace Sinwar (criticized as a “megalomaniac") with a more moderate commander, a pathway toward de-escalation becomes more realistic. 2️⃣ This happens less than one month after the elimination of Hezbollah's Nasrallah. That matters. The one-two punch may carry an outsized effect on the near-term efficacy and alignment of two of Israel’s most proximate adversaries. 3️⃣ Many debate whether leadership decapitation “works.” As an organization, Hamas is not defeated with Sinwar’s death. The most likely effects are degradation (operational) and deterrence (strategic).
