Here are 5 reasons why we still need administrative assistants and not just AI 1. **Human Judgment and Discretion**: Administrative assistants possess the ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling various tasks. While AI can automate certain routine tasks, it lacks the nuanced understanding and flexibility that humans bring to decision-making processes. For example, administrative assistants can assess situations, prioritize tasks, and adapt to unexpected circumstances in ways that AI currently cannot. 2. **Interpersonal Skills**: Administrative assistants often serve as the face of an organization, interacting with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Their interpersonal skills, such as empathy, tact, and diplomacy, are crucial in building and maintaining relationships. While AI can perform certain communication tasks, it often lacks the emotional intelligence necessary for effective human interaction. 3. **Complex Problem Solving**: Many administrative tasks involve complex problem-solving scenarios that require critical thinking and creativity. While AI excels at processing large amounts of data and performing repetitive tasks, it may struggle with tasks that require abstract reasoning or lateral thinking. Administrative assistants can analyze situations, identify root causes, and propose innovative solutions that go beyond the capabilities of AI. 4. **Adaptability to Dynamic Environments**: In dynamic work environments, tasks and priorities can change rapidly. Administrative assistants are adept at handling ambiguity and adjusting their workflows accordingly. They can quickly pivot between tasks, reprioritize workloads, and address new challenges as they arise. AI systems may struggle to adapt to such dynamic situations without human intervention and oversight. 5. **Ethical and Legal Considerations**: Administrative tasks often involve handling sensitive information and making decisions with ethical and legal implications. Human administrative assistants are trained to navigate these complexities, ensuring compliance with regulations and upholding ethical standards. While AI can assist with data management and analysis, it may lack the moral reasoning and ethical judgment necessary to navigate ambiguous situations effectively. #OfficeExperts #OfficeExpertAward #ByEAsForEAs #AdministrativeAssistants #Productivity #Efficiency #FutureOfWork #Technology #ProfessionalDevelopment #Pinstripes Houston Office Experts LLC

Ever feel like your calendar is a battlefield of conflicting appointments and forgotten commitments? Enter AI scheduling assistants, the digital taskmasters ready to whip your timetable into shape faster than you can say "double-booked." Picture this: You're peacefully sipping your morning coffee when your AI scheduler chimes in, "Good morning, human! I've optimized your day for maximum efficiency. I've scheduled your bathroom breaks at precisely 10:23 AM and 2:47 PM. Don't worry, I've factored in your coffee intake and calculated your bladder capacity." These silicon-based secretaries are like that overzealous intern who color-codes your entire life and arranges your sock drawer by fiber content. They'll have you sprinting between back-to-back meetings with the precision of an Olympic relay team. Who needs work-life balance when you can have work-work-work balance? But jokes aside, AI scheduling tools can genuinely help streamline your day and reduce the mental load of managing your time. Just remember to schedule in some "human" time too – your AI assistant might not understand the importance of a spontaneous coffee run or a midday existential crisis. What's your experience with AI scheduling? Has it turned you into a productivity machine, or are you still defiantly scribbling appointments on Post-it notes? Share your thoughts below! #AIProductivity #WorkLifeBalance #TechHumor

See our most recent paper https://lnkd.in/gPY5Fh4k #traveldemand #workingfromhome #remotework #commuting #choicemodel #surveydata #transportpolicy As COVID-19 slowly dissipated after 30 months since March 2020, working from home (WFH) continues to be popular, with support from notable numbers of employees and employers. There is growing evidence that we have either reached, or appear to be close to, a level of WFH to some extent that might be described as an equilibrium outcome going forward. Hence, there is a need to update any travel behaviour response models that have been developed during the passage of the pandemic. This paper sets out a commuter model for each day of the week for the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area as of September 2022; where the alternative responses are to not work, WFH, or commute by one of ten modes available. Given the probability of WFH obtained from a mixed logit model, we construct a mapping equation to establish the sources of statistical variance by origin and destination locations that influence the incidence of WFH. The evidence is used as the basis of commenting on what this means for longer term structural changes in network performance, the likely move to a greater focus on living locally, and the need (or otherwise) for employers to retain office space. A significant return to the office has recently been promoted by some employers, and we comment on this as to what it might mean for the future of a hybrid working location model.
