I engaged the e-brake... And it was on a flat surface... But I must've left it in neutral. I stepped inside for five minutes. Somehow, the car inched forward, barreled down the driveway, across the street, and smashed into the neighbor's kitchen, stopping 3 inches from a gas line. There are bicyclists on the street. There are moms pushing their babies in strollers. There are people walking their dogs and cars driving by. There were children inside the kitchen. So much could have changed for so many forever. I help mid-career professionals to build Shining Personal Brand using my 3D model / Best-selling Author / TEDx speaker / 20+ years of Corporate Experience
My family stopped me going outside. As suggested by family members and elders, I had done the mukhagni ( cremation ) of my eldest brother. I have no idea about many traditional rituals. There were many ceremonial things to do. My family members asked me to stay in the home for few days. There could be multiple reasons for this . But one reason I found is that people may get injured or hurt due to distress while driving, shopping, working with someoneโs loss. So , it is better to stay calm and peaceful till you normalise yourself. I followed some suggestions given by elders during last few days . They are like I - stayed in the home few days - ate only fruits, boil food , milk etc. - slept on the floor for 13days - shaving off my hair - daily listening to elders explaining the role of mind, body and soul in a personโs life journey I did all these for the first time. By doing all these, I learned four beautiful lessons : 1. Some sacrifices donโt make you weak and poor . Instead you will become more stronger and rich from inside. 2. You want to achieve many things in life , but have limited time . Donโt need to do all the things but focus on one thing at a time . 3. Your life is a collection of imprints . It is either created by someone else on you or you create on someone else. So , either you choose the right person or let the right person to choose you to create positive imprints. 4. Work on building mental and emotional strength apart from your technical and business skills . These helped me to re-strengthen myself and deliver an online session on โPersonal Brandingโ to the eagerly waiting audience who booked me one month ago . P.S. Arranging any ceremony is not an easy thing. Lots of activities have to go behind the scene. My second elder brother Pratim managed things outside and I managed things inside staying in the home. Now , all the immediate ceremonial things have been done peacefully and we thank you all the well-wishers for blessings and support. What about you ? How do you manage when some unwanted situations come into your life?

I help GCs and legal teams deliver real 'value' | Iโm also a leadership and team coach focusing on purpose, alignment and culture | I champion purpose-led value in legal and beyond | Iโm also a meditation teacher
Christmas values (1 of 3). Today is about Forgiveness. I know I talk about all sorts of value for legal teams, but no more posts about work from me now. If you need any support, please DM me or the team (you can message LexSolutions directly on LinkedIn now, how cool is that?!). I'm going to offer three posts this week about three key values that I associate with Christmas: Forgiveness, Connectedness and Love. Yes, folks - we're going a bit hippyshit as we see in Noel! Each of these are Christmas presents - or rather "Christmas Presence", because that's how we access them. Today, we turn to forgiveness. Forgiveness will always be difficult, it's meant to be. That's why (when we're ready), we have no choice but to do the hard thing. Because, when we pause enough to see there's a choice, we know we have to choose the more compassionate one. And, above all else, forgiveness is the self-compassionate choice. As we forgive, we lighten the burden on ourselves. Because judgement and expectation of others weigh down more on us. Yet, going deeper still, the hardest person we find to forgive... is ourselves. How would it be to come to ourselves as a dear friend? Without judgement or toxic expectation. With acceptance. With love. Perhaps save this post and take ONE MINUTE, now or later, to think about what judgements and expectations you might be able to let go of. Think first of those towards yourselves. What gripes and disappointments about an older version of you might you be able to release? Forgiveness can make way for Connectedness with others (we'll touch on that tomorrow), but it doesn't have to and that's not the point. Either way, it ALWAYS offers greater connectedness to ourselves. Hope doing that feels good? PS and BTW, this does not mean that we don't judge, question or have expectations of those in charge - politically or otherwise. Leadership comes with responsibility and accountability (and all that). #leadership #culture #forgiveness #selfcompassion #christmaspresence #manumindfulminute

LinkedIn Top Voice 2023 | Lifestyle Medicine Physician | Creating sustainable high-performance so you can thrive in life and work
Are you too busy for Christmas? Have you found yourself caught up in too much doing? When I find myself leaning towards too much busyness, I find it helpful to refer back to Bronnie Wareโs book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: 1. I wish Iโd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. 2. I wish I hadnโt worked so hard. 3. I wish Iโd had the courage to express my feelings. 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. 5. I wish that I had let myself be happier. Nothing in the top five that says โ Gee, I wish Iโd not taken that holiday, or enjoyed that special time with my folks or witnessed our childโs first steps. Denying ourselves time out to spend with family and friends, especially at Christmas, sends the message to others that we care more about all the other things in front of us than our relationships. How we relate to one another, how we spend time together, how we understand each other is what binds us and gives us our strength to succeed. Is it time for you to give a friend a call, share some acts of kindness, or spend some time together with loved ones? This is your sign to press pause and do something for you and the people who matter most, whatever that looks like. #busyness #burnoutprevention #christmas #stressmanagement #overwhelm #rest #takeabreak #workplacewellbeing #workculture

โ๏ธSometimes Christmas isn't all jingles and joyโ๏ธ For some of us Christmas brings us angst, stress, grief, pain, pressure and sadness... AND THAT'S OK. Let yourself be visited by the Ghosts of Christmas just like ol' Ebenezer Scrooge... โจ1 - The Gratitude Ghost of Christmas Pastโจ Think about past Christmas's and list one or more things that made you happy and that you are thankful for from that period. โจ2 - The Gratitude Ghost of Christmas Presentโจ List one or more things that you are grateful for this Christmas period (of you are struggling maybe feel thankful for the fact you can see or hear this post) โจ3 - The Gratitude Ghost of Christmas Futureโจ Think about how you want your future Christmas's to be like and give thanks for it as if it is already done. โค๏ธI do find it difficult to find things to be grateful for when I think about my Dad not being here physically, but then I just try to focus on the people I love who ARE still around me and give me strength and support.โค๏ธ โจI am always here for anyone who wants to speak about loss and grief so you aren't ever alone so book in a FREE 15 minute Energy Assessment call with meโจ Love, Light and Blessing as always โค๏ธโจ๐๐ฝ #griefsupport #wellnesscoach #healingtrauma #gratitudeattitude

Forgiveness Friday: To-Do Lists Can Wait, Supermom! We've all been there, moms. The clock strikes dinnertime, the house is a whirlwind, and your to-do list mocks you from the fridge. But before you unleash your inner superhero cape (because let's face it, you're already a superhero!), let's talk about forgiveness. It's okay if your laundry mountain hasn't met Everest yet, or the dishes haven't achieved perfect zen in the dishwasher. Motherhood is a marathon, not a sprint, and sometimes the most important thing you can accomplish is taking care of yourself. As moms, we often dream of "having it all." But the truth is, we can't have it all at the same time. Some days, conquering the to-do list takes priority. Other days, your well-being and your little ones' needs come first. Here's what we CAN do: 1) Celebrate the Wins: Did you manage to get everyone fed and (mostly) clean? Did you finally tackle that overflowing diaper pail? High five yourself, mama! Every little victory counts. 2) Prioritize for Tomorrow: Make a realistic to-do list for the next day, focusing on the most essential tasks. Remember, a perfect list is just that โ perfect (and probably unrealistic!). 3) Let Go of the Rest: Forgive yourself for what didn't get done. There's always tomorrow, and sometimes, a little "good enough" is more than enough. Remember, you are not your to-do list. You are a loving, caring mama who's doing the best she can, and that's something to be incredibly proud of. #ForgivenessFriday #MomLife #SupermomStruggles #ToDoListBlues #MentalHealthMatters #MomWins #CelebrateSmallVictories #LetItGo #YouGotThis #HaveItAllButNotAllAtOnce #ImperfectAndEnough

"How grateful are you for the little things?" If you ask me, I am extremely grateful to my furry friends. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to overlook the simple pleasures that bring us joy. I am happy because my pets, Rot, Weiller, and Tiller, give me unconditional love and company. Studies have indicated that having pets improves our general health. For my family, they are integral members of our family, not just pets. They are our friends who give us structure and routine, reduce stress, bring us joy, and promote social interaction. My pets teach me to be present and grateful for what I have, whether they are playing in the backyard or snuggling on the couch. But being happy means living life with curiosity and energy, not just feeling good. It is about looking after our physical health, developing healthy relationships, and finding purpose at work. It is all about letting go of fear and not holding backโperhaps a healthy dose of fear will keep us going. As we go through life's ups and downs, remember to appreciate the little things that make us happy. Let us learn from our pets and find joy in the present. After all, a fulfilled life is one full of joyful memories shared with those we care about. So, what is it that makes your day? I would love to hear from you. Do share it in the comment section below. Follow me Dr. Nagraani Mahaajan #Happiness #Pets #Mindfulness #Gratitude #LivingInTheMoment
