🤓 Did you know? Today is #ICTD 2024! The International Clinical Trials Day commemorates the day when James Lind, a ship’s surgeon in the British Royal Navy, laid the foundation for modern clinical research by starting his famous clinical trial on scurvy in 1747. ☝ This is the perfect opportunity to remind everyone about the upcoming transition for all ongoing clinical trials in the European Union. All trials must transition to the Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS) by January 30, 2025, marking the end of a three-year transition period since the Clinical Trials Regulation (CTR) became applicable. If you are sponsoring a clinical trial under the previous Clinical Trials Directive (CTD) and plan to continue beyond this date, ensure you account for the evaluation procedure time, which can take up to three months. Member States are working to implement expedited procedures wherever possible to facilitate this transition.
