Given the current attention to the demands of an adequate healthcare system and the heightened interest in public health in general, this event in the European Parliament will address what can be done to ensure that the health systems are resilient enough to not only handle the needs of existing patients but also respond those underlying issues that are shaping future healthcare needs. The event will focus on how the EU and countries are tackling cancer, using health data, the role of early diagnosis and treating in responding to the unmet health needs with a view to identify some best practices and discuss what the cross-regionals learnings should be prioritized in the next legislative period. On top of this, we will discuss the implications of the upcoming EU elections, and how these elections can be used to put a spotlight on public health, diagnose and treat diseases as well as predict ill-health and how such solutions can be part of the toolbox to rebuild healthcare systems in the next legislative period. Participants will hear from a variety of European Commission officials, Members of the European Parliament, and a range of experts including patients. After four interesting election days, there is a new #EuropeanParliament who will officially start their work on 16th July in Strasbourg. They will have a packed agenda, but the European endocrine community urges the European Parliament and all its members to continue the good work of the previous Parliament in the area of health and environment. The challenges in this area are numerous and real and become more pressing every day. At this critical time, we are looking forward to continuing to combine our efforts and work together with all the previous and new members towards a healthier, less toxic environment - for the benefit of current and future generations. #BecauseHormonesMatter
