Meaningful employment should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re excited to share that two of our Project SEARCH interns have secured paid jobs at ClwydAlyn! After working in the café during their internships, Thomas and Paige impressed the team so much that they were offered permanent roles. Their manager, Angela, shared: “It’s really beneficial having Hft job coaches on hand and available to provide any support. I have found the job coaches to be very friendly and always willing to help with any issues. I would definitely recommend Hft to other businesses.” This success shows how valuable supported internships can be for both job seekers and employers. If your business wants to create a more inclusive workforce, we’d love to hear from you! #InclusiveEmployment #SupportedInternships #LearningDisabilityAllies #SupportedEmployment

Recruiters really do surprise me sometimes. I saw an internship posting the other day that required "prior knowledge." It made me pause and think—if someone already has experience in the field, would they even want an internship? Aren’t internships supposed to be about learning and gaining that first bit of experience? It’s a bit frustrating to see opportunities meant for newcomers being closed off by criteria like this. We should be encouraging fresh talent to step in and grow, not putting up walls that might keep them out. Internships should be about growth, learning, and opening doors, not closing them. What do you think? Have you noticed similar trends in job postings? #CareerGrowth #Internships #TalentDevelopment #RecruitmentChallenges

Are unpaid internships secretly good for us? As much as I hate the concept of unpaid internships, I can't ignore the value they often provide to individuals. Many people gain great experience from their time at internships that don't usually pay. It's an opportunity to learn, grow, and build connections in the industry. However, this comes with a significant ethical dilemma. When companies exploit your skills without fair compensation, it encourages a cycle of unpaid labor. This not only undervalues your contributions but also perpetuates a system where only those who can afford to work for free can gain such experiences. What are your thoughts on this? How do we find a middle ground that offers fair compensation while still providing meaningful opportunities for growth and learning? #EthicalDilemma #UnpaidInternships #InternshipExperience #FairCompensation #CareerGrowth #IndustryInsights

This article includes ten ways internships are helpful. Two of them specifically caught my eye. The first isn't really thought of but you make friends. This will in turn increase your confidence, and create connections that can help you when you are looking for a job. The second is it boosts your resume. It then makes it easier for you to get a future job. #alpinecteinternships #mountainlandcte @Alpine School District CTE Internships

🌍 A Call to Action: Say No to Pay to get Internships!🚫💰 Dear LinkedIn Community, I hope this message finds you well. Today, I want to address an alarming trend that is gaining traction in our professional landscape: companies asking for payment in exchange for internship opportunities, regardless of the amount. Internships should be gateways to learning, growth, and experience, not a financial burden. When organizations request payment, it raises serious ethical concerns and undermines the integrity of the hiring process. While I understand that the selection process can be time-consuming, it should never be mixed with any form of corruption or exploitation. Every aspiring professional deserves a fair chance to learn and contribute without the added pressure of financial obligations. Let’s stand together as a community to reject this practice. We must advocate for a system where talent is recognized based on skills and potential, not financial means. If you encounter companies asking for money in exchange for internships, please speak up! Share your experiences and help raise awareness. Together, we can create a more equitable environment for all. Remember, your skills and dedication are valuable—never let anyone make you feel otherwise! #InternshipEthics #NoToPaidInternships #FairOpportunities #CareerDevelopment #StandTogether 🔗✨ Let's make a change!

🛑 ALERT FOR NEW INTERNS I recently encountered a disappointing experience in my professional journey that I hope can serve as a cautionary tale for others. I was offered a paid internship with a well-detailed job description, only to discover after onboarding that it was actually unpaid. Despite the promises made during the hiring process, I found myself in a position with no compensation, contrary to what was agreed upon. I'm sharing this to help others avoid similar situations and to encourage companies to be more transparent and fair with young professionals. Internships should be a mutually beneficial opportunity, not a misleading experience. #internships #careerjourney #transparency #lessonslearned #career

🚫Say NO to Unpaid Internships!🚫 Companies promise 'real world experience' but often disregard it when it matters. It's a frustrating cycle that hurts interns and perpetuates inequality. Let's demand change together. Interns deserve fair compensation for their hard work, not just empty promises. Share if you agree it's time to end unpaid internships and ensure aspiring professionals get the recognition they deserve. #hr #recruiters #companies #coperate #internship #unpaid #experience
