Google's Lumiere is both scary and exciting. If you haven't read about it here's the breakdown (from my perspective)... Google's research team announced yesterday their new breakthrough in generative AI which is consistent video content. This is important because generative AI video was available but it couldn't reliably create similar frames to make a realistic video. Here are the pros and cons I see for it. Pros: ✅ Animation and video content will be easier than ever to create, allowing more people to have access to their full creativity. ✅ Similarly to how the internet has become a basic necessity, the endless access to personalized entertainment will be more realistic. ✅ The race for AI has increased innovation for almost every field and this was the next hurdle we were leaping over. Cons: ❌ Job displacement has become an ever increasing fear and this has taken it to a new level. ❌ The line between reality and the digital world has now become more blurred. It was easy to tell if a video was created with an AI before since all they could do was basic animations, now it's going to be significantly more difficult to tell the difference. ❌ Is this even something that exists? Google has a history of stretching the truth and altering videos to seem more capable than they truly are. It is important to look at this with extreme skepticism, however it forces us to truly think about what happens next. This isn't released to the public yet and it might not truly exist yet but what happens when it does. How do we react? I would love to hear people's thoughts on this. What do you think about the future of generative video AI? #Lumiere #GenerativeAI #Google #Technology

This is definitely an exciting breakthrough in generative AI! The potential for easier creation of animation and video content is a game-changer. However, the potential for job displacement and blurring of reality is concerning. It's important to approach this with skepticism and consider the implications for the future.
