AT&T posted a letter addressing the outage and their explanation is - "Our initial review of the cause of Thursday’s outage indicates it was due to the application and execution of an incorrect process used while working to expand our network." Which seems pretty non-specific. It will be interesting to see if AT&T is forced to provide a public explanation of what went horribly wrong. This is a reminder of why it is helpful to have multiple vendors for mission critical services, like access to the internet, and not have a single point of failure. Personally something as simple as having internet that wasn't provided by the cellular networks, and could be connected to by wi-fi was very helpful. Conversely it's good I have access to cellular networks in case my landline internet goes down. https://lnkd.in/eGhxtVaM

Important info related to the Crowdstrike global outage today and how it effected our service. Please read below:
*Resolution of Technical Outage - All Systems Operational* We want to inform you about a recent technical issue related to the global Crowdstrike outage that affected our system’s operations. During this early morning period, while dig tickets were still being processed and recorded, they were not able to be transmitted to our utility members. We are pleased to report that our ticket provider Pelican found a swift work around to the global outage and systems are now back up and transmitting. All dig tickets taken during the morning outage have been reprocessed and successfully sent to the appropriate utility members. If you are still experiencing any issues related to receiving tickets from our center, please reach out to our Member Services department at memberservices@usan.org ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience this global outage may have caused and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
