Meet Tamás 👋🏻 Tamás works in the Maintenance and Repair Inspection at our rail subsidiary METRANS Group in Dunajská Streda, Slovakia. He monitors and controls the work of the technicians that are responsible for the technical conditions of the containers at the gate and in the container repair shop. Tamás joined us in 2015 and initially worked as a technician in the Check In department. Since 2022 he is certified as a professional inspector. Now, it is his responsibility to minimise mistakes when communicating with shippers about the technical conditions and repairs of containers. In addition, Tamás assists in external audits, helps the technicians to simplify their work and manages the communication with the M&R departments at our foreign terminals. Tamás likes to share his technical knowledge and is eager to receive more certifications. The biggest challenge in his job? Meeting the expectations of the shipowners. All inspections and reporting must adhere not only to IICL regulations and standards, but also to separate shipowner’s standards as companies occasionally have standards that differ from IICL. It’s essential for Tamás to be familiar with these standards and know how to differentiate them. When confronting someone with a mistake, Tamás always tries to find common ground so that both parties are satisfied with the outcome, and nobody feels guilty about mistakes that have been made. #HHLA #METRANS #train #rail #team #technician

Marine Officer | MBA Graduate | Nautical Science Expert | Enhancing Maritime Efficiency & Strategy | Navigating Excellence with Business Acumen
Crane Operator: The Key to Efficient Cargo Handling at Sea and Ports Crane operators play an essential role in the maritime and logistics industries, handling cargo efficiently at ports and offshore platforms. Their precision and skill in operating heavy machinery ensure that containers, equipment, and supplies are loaded and unloaded safely, contributing to the smooth flow of global trade. My experience in the maritime sector has highlighted the critical role crane operators play in ensuring that cargo operations run seamlessly, both onshore and offshore. Crane operators are responsible for operating large, complex equipment that lifts and moves cargo with precision. Whether working on a container ship, an offshore rig, or at a bustling port, operators must be highly trained in maneuvering cranes safely, especially in environments where weather conditions, vessel movement, and tight deadlines can present challenges. Coordination with the vessel’s crew and dock personnel is crucial to ensure efficient and safe cargo handling. In recent years, advancements in crane technology have transformed the role of crane operators. Many modern port cranes are equipped with automated systems, remote controls, and advanced safety features. These innovations are aimed at increasing productivity and reducing risks, allowing operators to handle larger volumes of cargo with improved accuracy. At the same time, operators are increasingly required to be tech-savvy to adapt to these evolving technologies. Despite automation, the role of human operators remains indispensable, especially when dealing with unexpected issues or complex cargo configurations. Safety is always a top priority for crane operators. Certification is required, and operators must adhere to strict regulations and safety protocols to prevent accidents. Training includes understanding load limits, weather considerations, equipment maintenance, and emergency response procedures. Certified operators are equipped to manage these challenges while maintaining the highest safety standards, minimizing the risk of injury or damage to cargo. Reflecting on my experiences, crane operators are key players in the logistics and maritime industries. Their ability to handle cargo safely and efficiently contributes to the success of operations, reducing delays and ensuring that goods are delivered on time. For those interested in a hands-on career in maritime logistics, crane operation offers both technical challenges and rewarding opportunities. Feel free to reach out for further discussions on this topic or to explore potential collaborations. Together, we can navigate towards a future of operational excellence in cargo handling at sea and ports. #Crane_Operator #maritime_and_logistics_industries #ports_and_offshore_platforms #Saleh_Bayagoob

4 stressfull months on board. Interview with 2nd engineer before going home. Improper vessel maintenance, and improper spares and consumables supply during many years have resulted with total tecnical chrisis and nearly loose of control over vessel Main event: 23 days stoppage in the middle of ocean. No spares for purifier made them out of order. Chief engineer has bypassed purifier and dirty fuel has destroyed fuel system. Other events: 7 emergency stoppages, 4 of them in congested waters during night time. Hard work and sleepless nights in order to keep vessel running. I would reccomend this video to spare departments and technical management of shipping companies. This is your chance to look into eyes of people by other side of your Desktop PC screen. #seafarers #shipping #technicalmanagement #shipmanagement #crewing #engineers https://lnkd.in/gtNdY-ay

For the love of God, can we stop bragging about jobs that are standard industry practice such as...."we have completed a successful mooring operation at an SBM" or "We have completed a successful Dry Dock operations" or "have successfully completed an STS Operations".... etc. It's very sweet and informative and everything else to know that a senior officer or Shipping Company has "successful completed" an industry standard job after having years of experience. And it wouldn't bother me quite so much, except that it's beginig to rub off when standard jobs are inflated like a balloon by someone who's had years of experience and yet sound like they are doing the job for the very first time and this only makes you sound like you are lacking the experience. So please stop 🙏 If the job/ operation has been complete it's probably been a successful job and we understand that. (As opposed to saying you have successfully completed a "STANDARD" industry job, rather explain what made it successful or what was achieved in the process)#maritime #seafarers #shippingcompany #tankership #tanker #ship #oil #oilandgas

Elite Offshore offers specialized "Rig Mover" training designed for professionals involved in the complex and critical task of moving offshore Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs) or oil rigs. This comprehensive training covers all aspects of a rig move operation, ensuring participants are well-prepared for every step of the process. The training begins with detailed planning and preparation, emphasizing the importance of thorough site surveys to understand seabed conditions and potential hazards at the new location. Participants learn about securing necessary permits and regulatory approvals, as well as conducting rigorous equipment checks to ensure all towing and mooring systems are in optimal condition. Pre-move operations are a crucial focus of the training. Trainees are taught to safely disconnect utilities such as power and communication lines and secure all equipment and loose items on the rig. Adjusting the rig’s ballast for stability during the move is another key component, alongside establishing clear communication channels between the rig, tow vessels, and shore base. During the rig towing phase, the training covers the proper attachment of tow vessels and the retrieval and securing of anchors. Continuous monitoring of weather conditions, towing speed, and rig stability is emphasized to ensure a safe journey. Navigational strategies to avoid obstacles and ensure safe passage are also discussed in detail. Finally, the positioning and setup phase is covered extensively. Participants learn how to position the rig accurately at the new site, deploy and secure anchors, reconnect utilities, and conduct post-move inspections to ensure all systems are functioning correctly. By the end of the training, participants will have the knowledge and skills to manage rig moves efficiently and safely, making them invaluable assets in offshore operations. Join Elite Offshore's "Rig Mover" training to master the intricacies of rig move operations and ensure the success of your next project.
