Greetings healthcare providers. I'm sure you're aware of information blocking disincentives for not following through with this requirement. Checkout the fact sheet to be sure your practice is not at risk. #HealthIT #Informationblocking
A new final rule details HHS’ first steps for holding health care providers accountable for information blocking. The final rule establishes a set of disincentives in CMS programs for certain health care providers that have been found to have committed information blocking by the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG). HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra remarked, “This final rule is designed to ensure we always have access to our own health information and that our care teams have the benefit of this information to guide their decisions. With this action, HHS is taking a critical step toward a health care system where people and their health providers have access to their electronic health information.” Check out the press release, fact sheets and more: https://lnkd.in/e3VHjA4W

Great update from the ONC as we move to a more "consumer" centric healthcare system. We as patients should have control over who has access to our data and when. As providers it will open up the opportunity to have access to all data we need to make decisions. The key challenge left is to ensure that this data is presented as information that allows the provider to gain the knowledge and wisdom to make informed decisions. We need to pair this with effective systems to parse the data automatically preventing information overload for the provider. Looking for opportunities to leverage my skills to develop these systems!

Correct me if I am wrong but the Allied Healthcare Bill that was passed in 2021 was supposed to be registering Allied Healthcare professionals, including "Behaviour Health" Professionals, under a Central and State Registry. It also included a criteria for registration. I think the Act isn't implemented yet in states. #counselingpsychologits #alliedhealthcare

Health systems are currently facing significant financial challenges, with 40% of hospitals still operating at a loss. Rating agencies recognize the year 2024 as a crucial period for hospitals to rebound from the financial blow dealt by the pandemic and tackle ongoing operational struggles, including the rise in drug and labor costs and the effects of Medicaid redetermination. Although the specific areas of focus may differ for each organization, these eight key realities demand the attention of health system executives and carry important implications for their leadership > https://owy.mn/3y5tR4c #OWHealth

Executive Vice President at New Jersey Association Directors Of Nursing Administration (NJADONA) LTC
As federal changes target long-term care (LTC) healthcare facilities, questions arise about the effectiveness of these measures. Many view these changes as mere bandaids, lacking long-term solutions. The question looms: why has long-term care (LTC) been specifically targeted, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic? #BlameGame #LongTermCare #HealthcareReform #Accountability #HealthcareDebate #HealthcareSystem #PolicyMakers
