Hi-Fly CNC’s Post

Another nice thing about the Speedio is that probing tool lengths costs you only about 30s. Barely enough time to walk away from the machine! I usually run a tool length check at the start of a new job, or if the machine has changed temp significantly (say mid long job or start of the day etc). Keeps the tool lengths relatively the same length and in practice you can blend 2 tools to within a few microns of Z height! Main tools here were supplied by Hofmann Vratny ❤️🩹

On my Brother I was doing broken tool checks at every tool change. Worth every penny and only takes a few seconds more per tool change. Many times I thought a job was so dialed in that a broken tool wouldn’t happen, and the Blum tool probe saved my butt!

Thanks for posting Hi-Fly CNC . 30 seconds is for checking about 10 tool lengths on a #BrotherSpeedio typically. 2 to 3 seconds per tool.

Great share about the speed of the Brother Machine Tools Europe & Blum-Novotest UK #brotherhood #speedio #nothingfaster
