Here's why I worry about the U.S.' cybersecurity. There are two batches of news alerts in my inbox today regarding Microsoft. One group reporting the news that Microsoft and Google are teaming up with the U.S. government to offer free or low cost cybersecurity services to help protect the country's 1800 rural hospitals from attack. The second group are news reports of Microsoft's weakness on cybersecurity. Including a new batch of zero-day, including a vulnerability that was exploited by #BlackBasta. Also, reactions to Microsoft's announcement that they are rolling back changes to its AI product that security researchers intensely criticized. This reminded us all again of a number of major cyber breaches targeting Microsoft in recent months. It's nice that the world's largest software company wants to help protect small vulnerable hospitals. But, really, can they? Maybe if Microsoft products were more secure, the people using them would be safer. #cybersecurity

So it's been announced that Wiz has made a U-turn on the mouthwatering offer from Google. This would have been the biggest acquisition by Google to date. Their most profitable by far has been YouTube, which was acquired for just under $2 billion in 2006, and now Google makes billions from this platform alone each year, essentially making the ROI infinite. Here's a few reasons why Wiz is making the right decision in avoiding being acquired: ✅ Cybersecurity is on the rise as we've seen with more and more cyber threats and technology shut down's (e.g. Crowdstrike and Microsoft from last week) ✅ The likes of Instagram and YouTube cashing in when they did, both for just over a billion each in the early 2000s, shows the value that such platforms have over time ✅ There's power in community - The Cybersecurity community will be celebrating this and empowering such brands even more to achieve even more of it's potential ✅ A great team is all you need - If you have a talented team, this can take you further than you imagined in growing a company
