We are working in partnership with London Borough of Hillingdon to transform the heart of Hayes Town Centre and Avondale Drive, delivering much-needed housing and public spaces to the community. The first phase includes 110 new homes, with 80 homes located at Hayes Town Centre and an additional 30 properties, here at Avondale Drive. Once fully completed, the two developments will provide a minimum of 740 new homes across social rent, shared ownership and private sale tenures. The delivery of affordable homes has been prioritised in the programme, helping to address local housing needs promptly. #newhomes #community #affordablehousing #regeneration

More council housing powers! 🏡🏠 Is this the silver bullet? Comment below 👇👇 Local councils are to be given more power to build much-needed affordable housing, thanks to the ability to purchase cheaper land. Cheaper costs for the purchase of housing will ensure that councils are able to easier transform communities, and begin to tackle the worsening homelessness crisis around the country. The importance of this move was explained by Kate Henderson, Chief Executive of the National Housing Federation, who said: “Enabling local councils to buy cheaper land through Compulsory Purchase Orders without paying ‘hope value’ will allow them to build more of the desperately needed affordable homes the country needs, in the right places for the people who need it most.” https://lnkd.in/dFsMxdp7 Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Jacob Young MP National Housing Federation Kate Henderson #Housing #AffordableHousing #CouncilHousing #LocalGovernment #Homes #Homelessness

It's encouraging to stay informed about local news and see how Local Authorities are addressing housing supply challenges. While many are taking similar steps, this particular initiative really stood out to us. Council Takes Major Steps to Boost Affordable Housing Supply The council has recently acquired two key sites to address housing demand: Hyde Park Hayes 3 (HPH3 Hayes) and the former St Andrews RAF site in Uxbridge. HPH3 Hayes: This site will immediately add 113 properties to the council's housing stock, benefiting residents at risk of homelessness and those on the housing waiting list. With support from GLA funding, this acquisition will help reduce reliance on high-cost temporary accommodation. RAF Uxbridge Site: This historic location, currently housing 89 derelict homes, offers significant redevelopment potential. The council plans to transform this site into a vibrant community with affordable homes, enhancing access to Uxbridge town centre. These developments are part of the council's broader strategy to purchase 300 homes by 2024/25 and deliver 500 additional homes over three years, underscoring its commitment to creating safe, affordable housing for residents. #AffordableHousing #CommunityDevelopment #UrbanRenewal #HousingSolutions #SustainableGrowth Sharon Whitney IPSA - Association of Independent Personal Search Agents IPSA Searches https://lnkd.in/e23GtCmh

Affordable Housing – housing set aside for essential workers – is crucial. Although housing is principally the responsibility of the State Government, the City is committed to tackling housing affordability any way it can, through developer levies, our planning controls, discounted property sales, and an Affordable and Diverse Housing Fund. We are delivering one-third of the entire housing target set by the NSW Government for the nine councils across eastern Sydney. I welcome the news that City West has acquired a fourth site in inner-Sydney for affordable homes in perpetuity. It's critical that Community Housing Providers like City West continue to grow, which increases their capacity to build more affordable homes to help reduce housing stress and make Sydney a more equitable and economically successful global city. Everyone has the right to an affordable, safe home, and this is a good step in the right direction.
