#worldhealthday The theme for World Health Day, 2024 is ‘My health, my right.’ While health is indeed a universal human right, in reality, it is severely at risk for millions across the globe, because of pollution, natural disasters, genocides, and wars. The right to health encompasses access to clean water, food, and air, safe workplaces and housing, quality healthcare and information, and protection from discrimination. Everyone has a right to their own decisions about their health, and everyone has a right to safe, good, consensual healthcare experiences.

There is a lot of politics and tension at this year’s World Health Assembly, some of it substantive but much of it a reflection of the global health stage being used as a theatre in which to act out wider geopolitical and ideological shifts. In that context an important message about the fundamental goal of WHO - to work together towards #HealthForAll.
