Just like having a balanced diet is important for your physical health, having a good work life balance is important for your mental health. Without that balance you can suffer from depression, loneliness, extreme stress, and a decline in your physical health (especially if you aren’t eating right due to stress or lack of time). Generally we keep moving on without thinking about our own mental health and wellness, but it's so important for us to stop and take time to inventory our feelings. It's important for us to take an inventory of how we are feeling because it allows us to check in with ourselves- are we doing good? Do we need to work on some issues? Is work becoming overwhelming? Do we need to adjust some work life balance? Allowing yourself to check in and recognizing the signs of burnout will be crucial in keeping yourself mentally well. Because after all, being mentally well is just as important as being physically well. 💫

Work Life Balance ⏳ Balancing your job and the rest of the important pieces in your life can be tricky. It’s something I’ve had to actively work on over the years and it’s always a work in progress depending on the day. The effect on your mental health can be counterproductive: Short temper 😤 Fatigue 😴 Higher stress levels 😠 Lost time with friends and family 👯♀️👯♂️ Poor Sleep 💤 Always important to reset and make sure you get the balance as many days as possible! #worklifebalance

🙏🏽Thanks to Peter Abbott for hosting a mental health in the workplace talk today over Zoom. 💚It is World Mental Health Day tomorrow💜 This year's theme is achieving a healthy work life balance. 🫵🏽 It is important to check in with yourself daily, as you would when it comes to physical health! Unhealthy habits can look like overworking, lack of self care, which all can lead to burn out... 😓 Healthy work life habits could include... ✅setting boundaries (no replying to emails at 10pm!) ✅flexibility (luckily my workplace support this) ✅stress management (for me this is taking time to do some daily exercise!) 💆🏽♀️ We should all take some time to reflect and find our own healthy coping techniques to release stress. I am going to try to have a weekly wellbeing check in with myself to see how I can improve my work life balance and overall mental health 📋✍🏽🤔💭

As we enter October - Mental Health Awareness Month has us reflecting on the impact that Work Life Balance can have on our Mental Health. When your worth is linked to a job title, a salary or a perceived successful lifestyle it can often deter us away from our own internal locus of evaluation. This can keep us in a constant state of drive to seek/do more and keep us in an unhealthy cycle of comparative thoughts. Seeking validation externally can often lead us into saying “yes” when what we really mean is “no”. A person can get lost in all the work they do in the week. It can get hectic with meetings, calls, assignments, reports and so on. But the main thing is to enjoy the time away from work, use it as a refresh period because it's very easy to lose time to work. A work life balance is important, off time is the best time to get the mind refreshed and ready for the busy week ahead. It's also a good time to catch up with friends and spend some much needed time with family and to just switch off from work. Mental health is key, give your mind the needed break it deserves.

Work<> Life balance?? What the hell is that??? The Fancy New age statement!! Human needs Mental Health!! If the person want to exit the office gate with all that's on their thoughts and just enter the house entrance with brand-new thoughts? Where will he or she be able to communicate and share what's going through their minds? Where will they divide share their happiness ? Where will they express their grief? Where will they be able to express their confusion, feel at ease, and find clarity? Home is the place for everything Everything belongs at home. “Give up these trendy, new-age claims about work-life balance. Give your loved ones your ears at any time. They wish to discuss a significant matter with you. They may hurt themselves because they are unable to keep up mentally. Permit them to share their innermost thoughts and open up. Give up making pretentious remarks because of social media and without considering what others have to say. Just remember not to stop at "keep office talks at office." There is no rule called Work life balance At the end, Your Mental health matters, Do what is good for you!! Stop promoting and practising new age trends without understanding humans
