This saga is beyond the pale. Outrageous bullying and misuse of authority shows a monumental lack of judgement by a once respected leader at Network Rail, now promoted to Transport Minister. This is, at this level of Government, a sacking offence or an immediate resignation with an unqualified apology to Gareth Dennis. I'm not holding my breath.
We're thrilled to announce that Keltbray Infrastructure Services Limited (KISL) and Network Rail, have been awarded the prestigious “Infrastructure Achievement of the Year Award” at the National Rail Awards 2024!
Our award-winning LTS MK1 OLE Replacement Project achieved remarkable success by upgrading the electrification infrastructure on the London, Tilbury, and Southend (LTS) routes, improving overhead line equipment (OLE) performance and resilience.
Key highlights include:
- Reduced project costs by circa 35% with an integrated self-delivery approach
- Eliminated 82 full 24-hour road closures, preventing over two million vehicle and one million pedestrian journey diversions
- Saved £7M by streamlining traffic management and reducing local authority applications
- Improved asset resilience and removed over 150 known issues
Judges praised the project’s innovative approach, stating that it "challenges norms and standards" and "brings overhead line fitment and renewal into the 21st century."
A big congratulations to our teams for their dedication and to everyone involved in delivering this complex, game-changing project. This achievement underscores our commitment to innovation and supporting the decarbonisation of the UK’s rail network.

Tell me why you need this?
After years of analyzing the most common problems within the rail infrastructure, we know that the transition between sections of different track construction is one of the top issues.
These transitions frequently develop defects during operation, causing disruptions and safety concerns. So, how to ensure a seamless transition without compromising on quality or efficiency? 🛤️
This universal transition module, invented by Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group is a game-changer in the world of rail infrastructure, that comes with a simple, integrated, and sustainable solution to the problem at hand. By providing an even distribution of differential settlement between sub- and superstructures, regardless of slab track construction type, the V-TRAS module ensures smooth and reliable transitions with minimal maintenance requirements. 🚀
Now, here's the question:
How this solution supports your strategic goals in rail infrastructure development?

Please have a look at this. The examples set out in the piece are quite detailed, but I am a big supporter of what David is trying to do, so much potential benefit here to be had.
It's great to see the West Coast Mainline upgrade project, Trilink, featured on the cover of the latest edition of Modern Railways. Over the past year we have been working with Network Rail’s David Gordon to develop innovative and efficient approaches to engineering access, timetabling and programme delivery for essential renewals and maintenance of the West Coast Mainline.
