55 years ago, Apollo 11 was launched towards the Moon. Today, Astrostrom founder Arthur R. Woods believes we should return to the Moon and use it as a base to build and operate solar power satellites that provide practically limitless clean energy for Earth. Arthur has a LOT of stories and a LOT of numbers to support his case. Ave-Lii and I could have listened to his anecdotes for much longer, but we had to put a stop somewhere. Go and listen to the full episode; links in the comments!
Limitless clean energy from space, autonomous mining and manufacturing on the Moon, lunar space elevator? Exactly 55 years ago, Apollo 11 launched towards the Moon. Today, Arthur R. Woods has a lot of big ideas about returning to the Moon, but his vision is not (just) about doing cool stuff in space for the sake of new knowledge. Arthur believes there is a solid business case for space-based solar power, supported by lunar operations. Angina and Ave-Lii talked to the Astrostrom founder in our latest Future Makers podcast episode. Arthur grew up in Florida during the birth of the U.S. space program, and today he works in Switzerland to build an international movement around space-based solar power. You can bet he has a lot of stories to tell! You can find links to the full episode in the comments. #FutureMakers #podcast #space #spacebasedsolarpower #solarenergy

#Radiothermodynamics. Very interesting. Brian Keating explained the resistor at the output of a radio telescope gets to the same temperature as the object it's pointed at. I wonder if that also is true for negative temperatures. Great #podcast for looking into the secrets of reality like virtual particles (#quantenschaum) or probability/gravitational waves. https://lnkd.in/gpGhHefz
