A Message from our Founding President, Col. Dr. Robert M. Krone. Welcome students, scholars, and space advocates to Kepler Space University (KSU). Our administration, faculty, and staff are dedicated to Space research and education for the expansion of human civilization from Earth into Space, with the primary goal of benefitting humans everywhere on Earth and beyond. KSU provides relevant educational programs and research solutions to business, industry and government in support of continuing Space Exploration, Commercialization, and Human Space Settlement. Today is one of the most exciting times in the history of the world, as we look back through the ages we see amazing accomplishments that have been made in Science, engineering, medicine, and so many different aspects of life that have brought us to this point and have set the stage for us to move forward into a Era never before imagined. We at Kepler Space University, look forward to you joining our academic and research programs in the global space community in the quest of the inevitable future Space Epoch. Science, technology and brainpower continue to give us the tools to achieve humanity’s successful journey into Space. Our vision and belief is that humankind can be continually improved, avoid extinction and survive in perpetuity by capturing the resources waiting in Space. The Law of Space Abundance – which states “Space has abundant resources to meet human needs” has been proven valid. But science and technology has also given humanity the tools for its own extermination. Our cradle Earth has evolved us to the verge of maturity. But we are not yet there; and the human factors for selecting the good paths and rejecting the bad ones remains a challenge we will address. We believe that Space holds the answer for humanity’s ultimate victory. Can you share this survey with your students? https://lnkd.in/gfE8RP8T Her initial research based mostly on European students (with some other countries represented) suggests the following: - The majority of students displayed a significant interest in space science. - Space education positively impacts students' interest in STEM subjects. - Memorable experiences are often tied to practical, hands-on activities. How do we provide advice to federal agencies? Over the years, the Board on Science has provided advice to NASA, NOAA, the Department of Education, and the National Science Foundation to improve their education-related work at all levels. It has responded to congressional requests to provide guidance on key issues in STEM education. This work can sometimes be invisible to people outside of federal government, but it can have profound effects on how agencies fund and support STEM education across the country. Seeing young people get excited and then get to work on their #space 🌌 dreams is always exciting. It is essential that opportunities like this are provided to more and more students. Additionally, I am thrilled that these middle and high school students are from #Maine 🌲. I've been pleasantly surprised at how many Maniacs 🦞 I've run across in the #spaceindustry. The #spaceeconomy is opening for business, and the #5ir will be here before we know it. For now, that activity mostly starts at 50km and extends to 500miles. But, a #circulareconomy in cislunar is coming, and it will connect the Earth to 8-12 space stations and the Moon 🌚 and generate annually $4T in economic output in the 2040s and $10T by the 2050s. Today's middle and high school students will be mid-career by that time as expert welders, United States Space Force guardians, or engineers, having the opportunity to be a part of that first big wave of workers building, protecting, and designing humankind's infrastructure to the stars. 🌎🚀🌌 -GSP- The Space Economy MilkyWayEconomy

We are partnering with NC Sea Grant to offer a joint funding opportunity for graduate student interdisciplinary research. Full-time graduate students at colleges and universities in North Carolina are eligible to apply for the $10,000 award. Applications are due April 8, 2024. The proposed research must address one of the following broad focus areas: - Sediment Budgets 📉📈 - Erosion 🌊 - Habitat transformations and the resultant impact on the wildlife 🏞️🐾 - Management Response as it relates to developing mechanisms, methods and/or tools to help natural resource managers make optimal decisions 🛠️🌱 https://lnkd.in/eay5s95Z

Cape Town is at the centre of the global space economy, hosting the International Astronomical Union (IAU) General Assembly. This is the first time in over 100 years that the event is being held on African soil. The event, which began on August 6 and will end on August 15, has attracted over 1,800 delegates. Wesgro CEO, Wrenelle Stander, said that hosting the IAU General Assembly highlights the region's growing prominence in the space economy. "Cape Town and the surrounding areas, including Stellenbosch, have emerged as a leading hub for space startups in Africa. Companies like Simera Sense and NewSpace Systems are thriving here, focusing on specific satellite components and technologies. They leverage international partnerships and utilise local expertise and supply chains," Stander remarked. The Western Cape has a storied history in satellite development, dating back to the 1980s, leading to the launch of South Africa's first satellite, SUNSAT, in 1999. Today, the region boasts a vibrant space startup ecosystem and has been instrumental in advancing space science through collaborations with major local universities—Stellenbosch University, the University of the Western Cape (UWC), and the University of Cape Town (UCT).
