Survivors of modern slavery were to be given a sanctuary, medical care, guidance – a chance to rebuild shattered lives. Another vow was made two years ago. Twelve months of essential help. Yet, these lifelines have been mercilessly scrapped. Imagine fighting for your life, escaping the clutches of exploitation, only to be thrust back into a world that seems alien, uncaring. I am that survivor. I know the crippling challenges – the lack of trust, the haunting trauma, the struggle to find normalcy without a helping hand. Today, as I stand on my own two feet, I see others falling through these same cracks. Modern slavery isn't a distant problem; it's here, affecting even UK nationals. We cannot let their silent pleas go unheard. The government must reinstate these crucial support systems. Your voice can make a difference. Write to your MP.
